02 February 2024
The change in color saturation is intentional and will not be altered for now.

SomeOneYouDontKnow, 04 Feb 2024If they are opting for giving more natural colors then, why... moreHow can you return a samsung phone, if you dont have any Samsung phone to begin with.

No need to lie for validating your message.

There are multiple articles about Vivid mode being a problem, multiple reviewers saying it's not Vivid, and well that's because it's not Vivid. Sure it's intentional, then I'm sorry for calling it broken, but if it's not broken then it's just plain misleading. Yes, obviously there is a difference between the two color options, as you've mentioned it's subtle, but the main thing is that it's called Vivid, when it's simply not that. Either take away that feature entirely, or make it actually Vivid, or rename it to something else.

Yeah, I don't like Samsung, I have no reason to. However the last time we interacted like this, it was much nicer, and while we disagree because you like Samsung ( absolutely nothing wrong with that ), I'd like to keep it that way. I understand that you like what they are doing, but you really don't have to be defensive about it. They do some actually awesome stuff, and some awful stuff. Look at my comments on some vivo and Infinix phones, I love those two brands, but when one of them has 4 iPhone lookalike phones called Smart 8 something and other, while the other one includes Anti-stroboscopic sensors as "secondary camera" on some budget phones, I call them out. If it's bad it's bad, regardless of brand.

Cheers, have a nice day! :)

Seems like people got used samsungs OVER SATURATED colors and now when is less of course it will be less apealing hence complain...

AnonD-1142968, 03 Feb 2024"This display behavior is an intentional color adjustm... moreThere's definitely a difference albeit subtle! Even I could see it despite having a poor sight.

If what Samsung Spain said is true, that they reviewed their definition/implementation of vivid to be what is currently obtainable with the S24 lineup, then it's definitely not broken! For something to be broken, it has to work/perform unlike intended.

Google reviewed android's file system, restricting access to some android folders, right? Do you, because of that intentional act, say that it's broken? I liked having access to those folders. I would actually like the restrictions to be dropped and I reckon that most knowledgeable people who had messed around in those folders would like having access to those folders again. Do you see where I'm driving at, now? It's totally okay if most people who liked the old vivid want it back. Just don't say it's broken simply because the new vivid isn't to your (or some people's) taste because it's not.

You don't like Samsung and that's very apparent, but you don't have to resort to false claims to show it.

If they are opting for giving more natural colors then, why give 2 modes of display simply keep natural as the only display mode if you are giving 2 mode atleast have some difference in the modes both the modes on 24 series are same with no change. Whats the point? And if you want to keep natural you already have a Natural mode why do you need to mess up the vivid functionality? Seems like they have messed up bad and they are not sure how to fix this so they are coming up with this statement. I think I will return my device since its in return period. Really lame.

My guess is because there's an actual race of who delivers the highest brightness and nits ongoing, the higher brightness does take some victim on how saturated the colors can technically still be.

I have my old s10e and new s24 side by side. The screens are a MASSIVE difference, its not even close. S10e much more saturation and contrast. The vivid mode, RGB sliders, 'eye comfort shield' and color tone sliders all seem very effective on s10e. On s24 it seems like nothing is happening.

robhof, 03 Feb 2024Abailuterly not true. You clearly don't own the phone. You are absolutely right, these sliders only change the white balance, they do not affect the saturation! This guy has no idea what he's talking about!

"This display behavior is an intentional color adjustment and is not a product defect, so it is safe to use." so if it is intentional, why samsung put the function between natural en vivid in one ui 6.1, i'm a owner of s24 ultra, and i see no difference between the two(natural VS vivid), so what Samsung spain says is not logical, the vivid function don't work,

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024It is intentional and not broken, did you even read the who... moreIntentionally broken is still broken, there is a difference yes but it's so subtle it might as well not be there. Why is it so hard for such a large company to give people options? You may not want Vivid mode, good then don't use it, you don't have to, but for the people that want to use it, this isn't Vivid. Why is the option even there if it doesn't do what it says it's going to do? Either remove it, or make it actually vivid, both would be nothing, but a simple software update, which Samsung is the best at, isn't it?

I am now afraid that the new updates breaks this vivid color option in older sam devices like s23U.😁

Maybe samsung has found the best color setting output through market research. Who knows..

Both natural and vivid mode give two different color output, also the user still could set the output manually using color bar.

Who is Samsung to decide whether they are giving the customer the best or the worst. There are a lot of complaints regarding the display and if so many people are dissatisfied with it then the company should provide a solution. They should not impose the product.
