Changing the concept Vivid to act like normal is a wrong move. Thats why it's called Vivid right to make colors more different lol

DarlingYext, 02 Feb 2024Can't even have options on these very expensive flagsh... moreOne question: is there still an advanced color settings—with R, G and B sliders—in these phones or not? If that settings is no more, then I totally agree with you. But if that setting is there, what really is all these talks about? I'm really curious to understand the fuss.

But no one complained about Vivid mode... Who wanted natural colors, they could use the other mode...

I'm not sure if this is as big of an issue as people are trying to make out to be. Human brain automatically adjusts the perceived saturation of contents after having seen them for a while, so after using a phone for a day or two one should be able to have no problem whatsoever with the lower, albeit more accurate saturation of the "new" Vivid mode.

Again not sure why it needs to, u can liberally manual tinker and boost any color beyond what vivid would give, so i don't get the issue

Oh no :(. I was really hoping it was a bug, because Vivid setting doesn't make anything different so why even have it? I've had the phone for over a week and hate these bleak colors.

Why not just make a new name for new color style for the screen so the customers can pick what they like to use and not just change the option and force people to change cause Samsung thinks it's better.

I thought the vivid mode only works in viewing media like in Gallery or Youtube App/Social Media. And Natural mode will be used on the homescreen.

Now, colors are more natural than previous generations, but you could still use the remaster option on the gallery if you want more saturated colors. Having more options is not bad usually!

There is indeed a difference between Vivid and Natural mode, although the difference doesn't appear to be that big compared to previous iteration.
If you want the old Vivid mode, you can adjust the RGB slider and make sure the blue slider is greater than green and red the smallest, or use the tritanopia option, or adjust the cool/warm slider.
Not my thing since I always prefer accurate color. For years, that's how Pixels and iPhones always look by default and nobody even complains. Natural mode is an adaptive mode where it adapts to the color profile depending on the content you're viewing (e.g sRGB, P3).

This is nonsense, we always had the natural profile, a more accurate colour rendition and the vivid profile that while a bit oversaturated pleased a lot of people making oled panels stand out. You had choices
Now with good lock you can customize the samsung UI for head to toe but god forbid if you can choose how to render the colour .
after paying top dollars for a device (s24u) with one of the best screen around (if not the best by dxomark) .
