Folding is a new form factor.
So they will give it a new OS... Not iPadOS nor iOS.
But this will prove confusing and disappointing, as they may remove features that is found solely on iPhone, like carplay or some apps.. developers can also opt out.. further limiting its launch apps.

Remember the smartwatch? Motorola etc were years head of Apple. Guess where they are now. Apple is a giant business with load of money. They may not seem to be as “innovative,” but when they decided to enter a new segment, the other players better brace for themselves.

Just what I was thinking about! If Ipads could be folded to the pro max sizes, and work both as phone and a pad, would be an idea to materialise in coming couple of years for all manufacturers! Only the four or more folds may be too tough an ask initially?
