Gee, because not everyone can access the Internet when accessing their shows and movies (like on flights) via cloud? Maybe because they want to pay ONCE instead of a monthly payment to access THEIR data (instead of Google or Microsoft's solutions)? Maybe because the MicroSD card slot, like the headphone jack to Bluetooth, prevents nobody from either using a cloud server or the physical card?

I love the fact, if you water damage or crack your phone, later you can acces the pictures after the accident.
For who is better to have an SD card slot, for the user or the phone company? (Don't pay for cloud storage, and they will realize...)

To them Samsung is now "prohibited" from making microSD cards because their flagships don't support it, and that's the only thing they make. That's the current mentality of most people. Crazy world we live in.

Oh, the irony! Samsung mass-producing 1TB microSD cards when microSD slot in smartphones keeps disappearing year after year.
At least, the slot is present in other electronic devices.

I love the fact that because this is primarily a smartphone news website, people's brains in the comments section short-circuit and think only smartphones use these, forgetting there's also digital cameras, laptops, SBC like Raspberry Pi, Steam Deck, the new Switch 2 coming will most likely still use SD cards, all those new handheld consoles releasing with ryzen, hell you can even buy a USB-C OTG Hub with a SD slot on it to use it on those beloved smartphones you only have on your mind.

Those cards are mainly for cameras and IoT devi... moreNahj i won't pay extra 250$ for 1tb phone...and if my phone gets sudden broke sdslot still survived it will save my important tons of gb files and I won't let my password, crypto secret phrase/password, etc be saved on cloud...1tb storage+ 1tb microsd is good combo zero harm to our phone so whats wrong having it?

it is meaningless speed if the Phone/Camera as-built Card Slot is still slow,
isn't this is why many Memory Card doesnt perform as claimed?
