Weekly poll: would you buy the Nothing Phone (2a)?

This is the first true mid-ranger from the company and is priced accordingly, but it still brings some of the advanced features of its pricier sibling.

I would love to, provided it's affordable to the normal avarage earner in South Africa on contract atleast, I however heard that it's not coming to South Africa.

    I didn't and wouldn't say pixel's have the best cameras but they are definitely way ahead of any Nothing phone, let alone the (2a).

      DarlingYext, 10 Mar 2024"..rest is an easy nothing phone 2a win " Not... moreTbh i think its i just dont trust the "pixels has best cam quality" situation, i owned the 6 pro (being hailed as the best of the year essentially) yet got beaten in most cases vs my old p40 pro that was almost 2 years older (took better video, handled low light better, better recording options like insanely slo slo mo, best bokeh ive seen on a device still etc, rest the pixel could only draw vs the p40p and thats vs selfie cam too). Also this and the 7a both use a samsung sensor for the main cam so really wont be "generations different"

      My mates pixel 7 is about on par with my find x5 and loses with the UW (also if you get Google one you get the pixel editing suite to get "pixel" style pics, thats all it is on pixels, software).

      Also my 6 pro was awful in build quality, chipped and scratched sitting on a counter (only xperia z1 was worse for this), maybe the 8 series is different but i just dont rate pixels really (nor do i really rate nothing phones, more the flashing lights which has a real difference) but for a decent chunk less than a pixel 7a I'd go for this (if i had to, again I'd go for a gen or 2 old flagship at the same price but i can take months to research and choose the right devices).

      Tbh both are good devices for the prices and will be capable to last years (plus 7 years of updates on pixels so a big bonus), only my opinion and pixel could be a better experience 😊

            GAMIR3DH, 10 Mar 2024You can always buy a old flagship. Is way better than this.I can't. I just can use phones with DC dimming, cause i have sensitive eyes. I had great experience with iphone LCD screens, and also with Poco F4 ( dont know how cause it use amoled). And the worst experience was with Samsung a34 and terrible 240hz pwm dimming. New flagship iphones, Samsung and Pixel devices are also very bad in this section.

                  I wouldn't purchase this or any midranger. Once you try a flagship, you never want to go back. For the same price you can get a second hand flagship in excellent condition, like a Galaxy S21 Ultra.

                    If Poco X6 Pro didnt exist, then yes i would.

                        I like the uniqueness of it, however the Poco X6 Pro has better internals and as such provides way better value.

                        Or you can save move money and get the Xiaomi 13T.

                            I'd rather buy the last year's flagship and call it a midrange other than wasting my money for this ugly thing

                              For the price of 12GB model, it is stretching into the territory of Xiaomi 13T, which has better cameras and SoC.

                                    Super Android 22, 10 Mar 2024Probably because the usb port on your phone can do the same... morei still prefer onboard storage to store things, cloud isn't that useful for me i don't have much to store more than 30gbs at max really so i prefer more storage over cloud or sd card eitherway
                                    and bluetooth headphones are better imo to use than audiojacks, i have been also using bt devices for few months now so it doesn't really matter to me if i had one or not.

                                      Not really when the Pixel 7a has cameras that are multiple generations ahaed of the Phone (2a)'s cameras, and the Pixel has a better build with it's aluminum frame as well.

                                        If i were looking for a midranger for price around 300-400 its a great phone.
                                        Apart this one only maybe Motorola edge 40 Neo is better or Redmi 13 Pro plus or Honor 90 which is for sale at 299 euros for 12/512GB combo in our stores in Slovakia.
                                        Still its a good bang for a bucks because many else brands will for same or simmilar price give much worse device.
