Indeed, because it's not a flagship. The S24 and the Xperia 5 V ( 5 VI) are/will be flagships, at that price you don't expect any corners to be cut, because there shouldn't be any, yet there are.

I Just Read, 12 Mar 2024Correction:
The S24 with 128 GB storage still has UFS 3.... more"This is why the text is flawed. Samsung has 3 tiers / models in their FLAGSHIP range, ULTRA, PRO, STANDARD. You don't need UFS 4.0 in any model under 512Gb Samsung or others."
*Ultra, Plus, Standard, there are no "Pro" Samsung phones anymore, so yet again you are wrong. (Apart from some rare options, like the Xcover6 Pro, which isn't a flagship.)
You don't need UFS 4.0, that's right, the same way you don't need a flagship, or even a smartphone to begin with. None of these are necessary for life. However when phones like the Poco X6 Pro, which isn't a flagship, and isn't even expensive, it's an around 350-450 usd phone, that offers nothing but UFS 4.0, it's pure greed to have a UFS 3.1 option at 700 usd or more.
"Wow
I have already posted this because the commentator still doesn't understand or comprehend the dictionary definition what flagship means."
I perfectly understand that you have no idea what you are talking about. The Sony 5 V (and the VI) are and will be in Sony's FLAGSHIP RANGE, the same way the S24 is in Samsung's FLAGSHIP RANGE, and the same way the vivo X Note is in vivo's flagship X series.
By your so called "dictionary definition" and nonsensical logic the S24 isn't a flagship, and neither is the S24 Plus, or the S23 Ultra, because the best phone Samsung currently makes is the S24 Ultra, so only that counts as a flagship. That's just wrong, simple as that.

Correction:
The S24 with 128 GB storage still has UFS 3.1, yeah the rest has UFS 4.0. Why does this option exist? To fool customers that's why.
Q Why is this comment utter nonsense?
A1 have they taken the role of ALL customers when it is a personal comment?
A2 3.1 and 4.0 are visually different if I see say 3.1 in phone specs I am not confused by seeing 4.0 in another phone
Specifications.
A3 Samsung: The 4.0 standard will have a capacity of up to 1TB (UFS 3.1 only supported up to 512GB!!)
This is why the text is flawed. Samsung has 3 tiers / models in their FLAGSHIP range, ULTRA, PRO, STANDARD. You don't need UFS 4.0 in any model under 512Gb Samsung or others. It's there required? Nah! smaller amount of data transfer.
There is, even in the Apple Vineyard better features & higher memory options in the top tier Pro Max than in the base.
Apples NVMe is across the entire range and AFAIK hasn't been "improved" in years or since UFS 4.0
UFS 4.0 speed is double that of 3.1 in 2022 UFS 4.0 gained top place over the customisd NVMe, to say somehow 3.1 is slow is to say NVMe is slow.
There was a 2 year gap between UFS release are we in for another?
I personally do like Vivo X range [Trio] memory options increase & progression across models from bottom to top.
Below is the very first paragraph in this article
"Sony is readying its trio of smartphones for 2024 currently - the Xperia 1 VI absolute flagship, the 5 VI compact flagship, and the 10 VI mid-ranger. Today the RAM amount options that all three of these will come with have been leaked"
So to post this is beyond belief
"Only 8GB of RAM on the 5 V and now according to this leak most likely even on the 5 VI as well isn't only disappointing, but not enough and not flagship level at all, definitely not competitive."
Wow
I have already posted this because the commentator still doesn't understand or comprehend the dictionary definition what flagship means.
"The best or most important thing OWNED or PRODUCED by a particular organization"
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=12263&idPhone2=12534&idPhone3=12264
A flagship doesn't have to have 12Gb RAM or 1Tb or 200 MP. The only criteria is "The best or most important thing OWNED or PRODUCED by a particular organization"
As others have mentioned Apples flagship are 8Gb Ram. Close a few open apps down.
Sony may be considered niche so not a volume seller. They do sell and are selling, maybe the Appeal is both MicoSd (512 Gb & 1Tb) and 3.5 mm
Other features are ranked higher than memory, eg camera, having BOTH micoSD and USb OTG is a win win.
It is frustrating to see time and time again WRONG comments made by the same person in the multiple post in the same article
The information is there basic openly accessible via a Google search, DICTIONARY, then common sense entry.
Opinion yes even loosely a belief, when they are then proven factually wrong they're just that, wrong.
One of the posting rules in on correctness
Read before you post. Search before you post
