Anything less than 32 GiB RAM is not sufficient for daily use in 2024.

        A Ferrari is unpractical, almost unusable in common tasks, expensive, gas hungry and will even lose to a Tesla Plaid S (1.99s/60mph).
        But a Ferrari has style a loyal fanbase and a certain design that makes this car unique. It's kind of your business card. It says something about you.
        That's why some people are still buying it.

        And yes, you got me, I'm going to buy it, if Sony gives at least 4 years of security updates for the new models. Just because it is something special that only a few people on this planet will rock, and because of the camera software. Point and shoot is not what I want. That's for the Samsung fraction. Those phones are great. Probably better than any Sony phone. But not for my needs and definitely not for the exclusive style.

              Having a low market share means nothing you know. You buy yout mainstream crap, no problem. Some, very few people will buy the Sony Xperia 1 VI anyways. Get over it.

                Oh, Sony smartphones. Not to be picky and harsh, but weren't we supposed to forget mobile consoles and play only gatcha on mobile phones? I recall such statement from Sony when they announced EOF for PS Vita back then.. well, Nintendo Switch appeared just shortly after that, we all know the result...

                But the question remains - is anyone buying and using Sony phones? Thought they stopped producing those many years ago

                          8 GB of RAM on phones is soooo 2017... 7 years ago!!
                          all flagship phones with 8 GB of RAM = planned obsolescence

                            at least make cheap phones like the Redmi Note 13 Pro, Nothing Phone (2a).. this is what everyone wants, this is what makes the brand grow.

                                    I still remember the Xperia 1 Mk4 Gaming Edition with 16GB RAM on board. I really can't see any reason why Sony won't sell it outside Japan, especially with how massively bloated Android OS is nowadays. 8GB RAM for the Xperia 10 is a welcome upgrade, but I still can't fathom why it remains on the Xperia 5. I know Sony built the Xperia 5 to directly compete against the vanilla compact Samsung Galaxy S and Apple iPhone Pro, but it's about time it get a bigger RAM upgrade.
