Given how overpriced Sony phones are here in Romania (especially at launch), I would rather get a Sony Alpha camera (say an a6700) with a 18-135mm kit lens if I have to rely strictly on the manual mode compared to a phone which lacks lots of nice features, like manual controls that you can do JUST by feel, not by smudging the touchscreen.

I have been considering the Xperia 1, excellent phone. The only problem for me, it is its ratio. It is matter of taste, but 21:9 on a phone is something I cannot live with.
It is really a pity that they have limit their choice so much. Sony phones used to have excellent battery performance. They might still have, but I have not used one for years. I would not like Sony phones to go the same way of Viaos.

WH-1000XM and WF-1000XM series. They're in their 5th generation now.

I would say the ram issue of the 5 VI only highlights the issues of the model itself.
It's not smaller, its not that much cheaper, its not more powerful either. Compared to the 1 VI, its pretty much a downgrade in everything but battery life.

That would explain why Samsung Galaxy has bigger phone marketshare in Japan compared to Sony. Interesting.

No surprise that there was no announcement from Sony at MWC since they have finally realised that announcing their phones 6 months before release is a bad idea. Expect they will launch when the phones are actually available this time. June?
