Almost the same power like their best soc, but will be in 350€ Poco F6 phone. What else for that cash they can offer? Amazing soc.

Hope Samsung use this chip over Exynos even in the A series would b nice

Finally qualcomm stops being lazy and bring some competition back to the mediatek upper midrangers like the 8300 or older mediatek flagship SOCs like 9000 etc

Sometimes I wonder why qualcomm just drag their feet

Is it going to be running slower than say the snap 888?

This SoC (Snapdragon 8s Gen 3) may well be preferred over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as the slightly lower clock speeds will reduce heat generation, hence phones equipped with it shall be less inclined to be throttled.

However, its downgraded GPU is the stumbling block for its adoption.

          Poor move by Qualcomm.

So.... help me out here, what is this chip for, and for what phones? the ACE3V/Nord4 already announced with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.. The Nord4CE already announced with 7Gen3.
Is 8s Gen3 the same chip as 7+ Gen 3 ?? or is 7+ Gen 3 the cut down version of the 8s Gen3 ??

Anonymous, 18 Mar 2024Important brands will be not using itExacrly Im still womdeirmg ehats the point? Whats the gain for clients to make products using this vs the 8 Gen 3 and for the extra R&D and cost for Qualcomm this just swems wasteful considering the 8 Gen 4 with Oryon is coming late this yeat.

This is upper midrange configuration and I can't see how it can cost less than $600. Just add $100-200 and get a proper flagship like Xiaomi 14 which will have a price drop in a few months anyway

It’s sad that they are sabotaging the GPU again: worse performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Great chip otherwise. TSMC?

I'm so tired of these incremental updates. Stop wasting sand.

So this is their response to mediatek dimensity ..
