A new video ad for the iPhone 15 is all about storing photos on your device.

this why I don't use apple phone or tablet anymore

DaFink, 19 Mar 2024I don’t think I have ever read, heard or seen any oem ever ... moreThe big deal is the fact that they are using 128GB storage on a "premium" device while 256GB is practically the default option for most mid-rangers nowadays (Most of them have 128GB on paper, but you can't even found them, and the 256GB versions ar estill much cheaper than an iPhone. And the mid-rangers usually have an sd slot too. Not to mention tons of other things like 3.5mm jack, FM radio, IR blaster.).

Oh, but I guess 800 is not "lots of" dollars for a phone with a dual cam setup and 60hz..😃

"8GB on an M3 MacBook Pro is probably analogous to 16GB on other systems"

Anonymous, 19 Mar 2024128 gigs is a lot. You don't need more (but if you do,... moreSeriously, cloud? So instead of listening to my music efficiently, i should drain my battery in no time because of someone's greed? Well, I'm not an Apple user and will never be, so i won't have to use any cloud (Except for what i always use it - backup. Its true purpose). Just got my new phone for 250EUR and it has 256GB.

Well they still sell laptops with 256gb storage and 8 gb ram. This is to be expected from apple.

I don’t think I have ever read, heard or seen any oem ever refer to the inbuilt storage configuration on their devices as ‘insufficient’ 🤔

It’s just an ad, what’s the big deal here, Slow news day I’m guessing GSMarena? 🤷

Phone Critic, 19 Mar 2024Me who is laughing with 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max 😆Let's face it, in a world where 200gb of cloud storage costs 3 bucks/month, there is no reason to get more physical storage on a phone, it just isn't worth the extra money. You can get an external hdd that's just as good.

Remember that the usual consumer does 1-2 photos per day, so mabye lets say 600 pics a year along with 200 videos. At this pace 128gb may last you beyond the moment you switch to something else.

Apple thinks a lot of things that aren't right or true, they can keep thinking it and it still won't make it true.

Yes 128gb for the win! Because if you take a 1TB iPhone, who's going to pay yearly for iCloud?

They're saying that because playing an ad saying it is enough is cheaper than actually giving people a usable base storage option.

I came from a 128 GB Xr. Apple really hates high res movies or really any big media file. It's a pain to put them in your phone and it's a pain to watch a downloaded movie. For all the stuff they say about optimization, VLC app overheats on ios and you have to pay premium for a similar app just to be able to play subtitle files and access the folders. If you don't want that hassle they yes, 128 gb is enough. I moved back to a 256 gb android phone and it's literally copy from pc and paste. Entire tv show seasons and high res movies for my enjoyment.

Partial truths are so handy for adverts. 128gb might be sufficient for photos for some people, however I notice there is no mention for video. Though not dishonest, might this accidental oversight be considered misleading?

As an Android user, I keep about 100+ full movies, 4 year worth of high quality snapped videos and pics, and about 10 years worth of old pics & vids, and around 5000 songs, a lot of which are FLAC (lossless) format. In total, 450GB space occupied.

So, my 512GB card, in addition to 128 in phone, is about sufficient for me, at the moment.

With an iPhone, we have to consider its a closed system, and its not easy to transfer old stuff to iphone. Plus, with the closed system comes closed minded fans, who don't complain, but believe.
When the actual iPeople aren't complaining, why should we android guys bother? Not like its affecting us.

Not everyday I call Apple's ad is cringe (because most of them are good tbh), but tbh this one is a bit cringe.
And my prediction is, maybe they're still having too much iPhone 15 128GB on stock, who knows 🤣

Not odd but plain stupid, 128gb is not much in 2024

That's an actually very nice joke, Apple! Keep the change. 🪙
