2. The remaining Chinese brands never get banned because they are not threat to the apple company yet. This apply to Samsung also. If Samsung surpass apple (I don't think that is possible in near future) they will also get banned by US government.

Snapdragon 845 from year 2019 still alive and can still play popular games (even my very old phone from 2017 with kirin 950 can still play the popular mobile games in my country at low-mid settings only) their only problem is Battery that has been replaced already,
This time i use Samsung s24 ultra and i guess it will last more than 5 years but the difference it use Li-ion and from what i search its has better life span than my previous phone using Li-Poly, well according to my research too li-ion is much easy to get catch on fire than Li-poly and common battery that explode is Li-ion. hope this unit has better build in their battery.

WhoCaresTM, 30 Mar 2024Enjoy your single picture gallery, lack of clipboard, lack ... moreFor number 2-3-4-5 and video recording is just a step further from what you get on android: install the app you need! gboard - calculator - camera app etc
And for galley, in my experience, location of where photos that have been taken are much more accurate on iOS(no idea why).
and when it is comparing to android, not a skin on top of it, you do not have split screen, floating window or app cloning and many more things on pixels either.
The thing iOS really lacks in is universal back. All the other things are minor imo.

2. You missed the point where there are yet 1000 chinese brands that are not banned by US, but none of them have ever surpassed Samsung

I get a chuckle out of media complaining when manufacturers don't support their electronics for extended periods of time and then complain when companies like Google and Samsung step up and do it. Guess they don't have anything better to write about or just like to create negative themed articles? I'm not exactly sure but it's entertaining to watch. There's zero downside to manufacturers supporting their technology for longer periods of time for the end user. Especially considering how easy it is to swap your own battery in phones like the new S24 Ultra. Nice to see companies actually listening to their customers and seeing IFixit giving the S24 lineup a 9/10 score for repairable when their phones were a dismal 3/10 not long ago. Hopefully this theme permeates through the marketplace, to other types of electronics. Nowadays, many people are using their phones and laptops for several years and having their software updated and improved, and more importantly, security regularly updated is imperative. We also pass our phones to our kids and parents who can use the phone for another few years saving them having to buy their own phone.

I would have to agree with ONEPLUS on this one.I love Samsung, but I don't think they are capable of giving updates for 7 years straight without a major breakdown.
They only make the hardware, Qualcomm makes the chip, and it's OS is on Google,so apple has a edge in this aspect.

It’s beneficial for both the buyers and the environment to keep the phone longer. Bring back user friendly replaceable batteries and you get yourself a device for the long term. The trend that there are not much innovations with new flagships and very little improvements apart from the camera and chipset, people tend to use their phone for a longer time anyways. Save the money and use it for something else they think.

Azu10157, 30 Mar 2024Almost as if the manufacturers produce only larger screens.... moreYeah and people only focus on the screen size not dimension
For example a few years ago I have a small phone with 5.15" screen (Mi 5) and try to compare it with Mi 14 with 6.36" screen. You know what? They close in dimensions but of course with higher screen to body ratio on Mi 14. The only real significant different it is a weight but its understandable because 3000 mah vs 4600 mah, single rear cam vs triple cam on Mi 14 and etc.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2024Not really futureproof, the titanium will corrode away affe... moreGood luck with corroding - Titanium is completely resistant to corrosion by boiling solutions of sodium chlorate, chlorite and hypochlorite, as well as to wet chlorine gas. However, it is attacked by dry chlorine gas, where there is also a risk of ignition.

Let’s see if they stick to their word first
It isn’t like they had super long updates previously
Apple are crap it at least they have a proven track record of updates
