Prices matter too. Especially with higher costs of everything. Motorola has better options than HMD or Samsung in the U.S. when it comes to entry level smartphones.

European markets get a variety of options.

Btw is HMD Finnish or Chinese?

-, 24 Apr 2024Pretty sure my aunt had the Lumia 535 lmao She bought it... moreAll Lumia phones needed windows launcher app to be able to update to windows 10
Carriers got zero business with phone updates as they give you only calls, sms and data to use on these phones. If carrier have updates then that means that your monthly fee will rise and nothing more

100-200 euro phones are not worth to repair. If you phone needs new screen or battery like 3 years in use then the 3 year old budget phone value is less then the new screen or battery cost with shipping.

At that price point phone you can be as careless as you like and dont need to care if the phone drops and breaks as it's cheaper to buy new phone to go trough the process of months of fixing it

Repair makes sense upper part of the middle class to flagship class phones that have hardware that perform you so good that it wont be slow even in 5 years when updates have ended these phones will still last more 5 years cause there hardware is just that good.

With these phones it makes sense to replace battery after 5 years. but 100-200 euro phones just make no sense

The G11 Plus is one of those phones that simply had the best value for money amongst Nokia's phones ($110 for a Unisoc T606 and 64GB storage was unbeaten at the time). 2 years later and we're getting the same phone refurbished with the article writer's fake price tag to attract controversy and not anything special.

What a waste of materials. Polluting the planet with rubbish from day 1.

There are still a lot of ways to offer a cheap phone with 'decent' hardware which can ne usable for at least 2 -3 years.

Anton .el PAPI., 24 Apr 2024MC did not sink Nokia, what Microsoft did to its own produc... moreStill, the final devices were very catastrophic, at least since the Lumia 535. Especially with the microphones, earpieces and frying network modules. All of those hardware failures are far off from even the worst pre-Microsoft Nokias and their consistent reliability. I'm glad I never purchased a Microsoft phone and bought a Samsung Galaxy J3 instead. Even if I prefer Windows phone to Android, I wouldn't want to burn my hard earned cash on faulty devices that I can have zero confidence or trust on.

What's the purpose of a phone, if it can't even let the user do the most basic of tasks because of hardware issues? I'm happy that none of HMD's Nokia phones had these hardware issues, at least to this date.

This should be illegal to be sold.

Advertised as "sustainable and repairable", but with specs which will make them unusable in no time.

                          Absolute scam.

In all seriousness though. Hmd must be a front for money laundering. There's no way they can stay in business with garbage phones like this. These would've been trash in 2019, nevermind 2024.

Anything with T606 shouldn't be priced above $80.
I mean they can just go with the T616/T618/T619 route instead, which is far more powerful than T606, a processor that only has 1.6GHz maximum clock speed. But nope they don't.

judging by the specs this phone must have been planned back in 2014.
