        Anonymous, 03 May 2024So you are saying Sony is a loser because it cannot build u... moreI have been using Sony phones in the past years regularly to the extent that the only phone with a notch I got to use was a Huawei P20 lite (a very good phone, actually). The day I got rid of the notch I understood its limitations with regard to the perception of the screen itself.

        Don't get me wrong, I believe S23 ultra is an exceptional phone and its screen is great. But after so many... notchless years it would be very difficult for me to use a phone with a notch or a camera island.

        And, actually, there's more: Sony UI is superbly simple (shy to the Android One experience my wife still has on her Nokia 7.1). If you combine the two, the UI and the perfectly balanced display, the result is so much more immersive. You get to the point where you forget you're using a device.

        Kudos to Sony for sticking to their own design. Japanese simplicity. Lovely.

          The changes to camera app & improvements to zoom are a welcome addition! Personally, I'm holding out - would rather get the new Pro II (if one launches), hopefully the Pro II retains a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 4K screen - potentially going up from 6.5" to 7" screen size, but most importantly having a larger sensor size, vapour chamber cooling and a bolder design. If the rumours about 5 VI/ Pro II not launching this year are true - I can only wait for next year.

              2-3 years is more than enough. Every 2 years i am swapping for new device when my old one is paid.
              Will sell it for most value i can get and enjoy the new phone.

                                  The 5VI should stick to dual camera and have 8sG3 or even 7+G3 to reduce even more cost. The price differentiation between 1 and 5 isn't significant enough.

                                        Edit: most ppl don't realize there's more to a phone than BeZeL siZe, this thing still has hardware that apple copycats dropped to cut costs on.
