They buy it because they believe it is the best product and it is perceived a luxury/premium device. Also, Apple will always get the benefit because they created this space.
You guys are still under the false impression Huawei is water cooler talk. Nobody in America knows or cares about Huawei, Vivo or Xiaomi. They have not made any impact on the everyday lives of people in the US. It's completely different in China. They feel attacked and they are speaking up by buying home grown products. Americans are too materialistic to do that. Most, if not half of the most expensive things in America are foreign.

I used to be one , flashing ROMs and testing all the time, obsessing over icon packs, homescreen ic9n layout arrangements, different launchers etc. But once you hit your mid 30s or above and have to work long.hours to make a living and pay taxes, you don't have time for such unimportant things anymore!!!
From a diehard android famboy I've gradually turned into someone who appreciates the simplicity of Apple's OS, the absence of rarely.used gimmicky features and ease of swapping from one iPhone to another due to the same OS being used across.
You cannot say the same about Androids!!. Except the pixels and Motorola phones , almost everyone else uses somewhat customised OS which makes you have to relearn things all over again!!
(I'm not talking about restoring old phone's data btw, just about getting used to the new OS, where the settings and icons are etc!!)
So you calling iPhone users as dumb without considering any of the above from a busy user's perspective is ironic to say the least lmao!!

And I'd like to add that Apple's OS is more high-trust compares to the android versions of the said Chinese manufacturers.
I've had strange 'bugs'(?) where cameras and microphone continued to function and record even when the sensors off function was enabled, even after multiple software and security updates.
This greatly reduced my trust in the Chinese manufactures as what's the point of having a sensors off toggle if it's just to offer a false sense of privacy?...

They have advanced so much since they days of their infamous 'lag-wiz' UI ita almost unrecognizable now (on One UI 6.1).
I personally trust their software more over that of budget Chinese manufacturers for reasons I stated in an earlier comment.

However, as far as privacy is considered ( given they are on their stock ROMs), none of them are as trustworthy as an iPhone in my experience.
For example on Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo , Iver personally experienced strange 'bugs'(?) where the camera and microphone were functioning even when the "sensors off" setting was properly turned on. Camera was even able to snap and save photos and record videos even then.
Funny thing was this wasn't the case at the beginning. It was only after 'software updates' that this started to happen.
So at least for me this has heavily tarnished the trust I had on the above brands, especially Vivo.
I'd prefer an iPhone given the choice, even at the higher price point , despite the lesser features , cz I value security and privacy more than those extra features which a most people barely use after the honeymoon phase is over.
So depending on the use case people might benefit more from an iPhone so blaming such individuals for not buying what you listed isn't fair. Just my two cents....

I moved to US and people always tell me to buy an iPhone. But you have a choice and its your money. You don't buy it to show off but to use and enjoy. And nowadays Samsung is equally good or even better. So I didn't listen to people and bought Samsung anyway. I got a great phone overall.

iPhone sales decline.
It's nationalist sentiment. Even though the Kirin 9000S cannot compete with the A17 or SD8G3, Chinese consumers wish to reward Huawei for making it. This is part of a broader trend. As more Chinese-made components are sold for the domestic market, Western products will be supplanted.

If Samsung can't turn around the balance sheet, investor will flee (share keep crashing)
Samsung do a magic number (firing worker, etc) to make the illusion of getting better.
In reality, Samsung losing the market share in semiconductor.
