Samsung Galaxy Ring price leaks and there will be a monthly subscription too

23 May 2024
The Ring will be pricey, but that's not surprising when it comes to cutting edge tech. The subscription is a bit of a surprise, though.

Screen died just after one year of use. No exposure to water during that time. The funny thing was my (now ancient) iPhone 6 with a popped out front panel which exposes the inside to the elements, outlasted the Galaxy.

You just proved my point. A phone with a smart-watch can do more than this ring. It will cost less in the long run too.

What a sad world we live in where people are so easily offended.

There is something wrong on the way of heaven.
              Let's wait and see.

if some subscription on samsung health i sell all my samsung stuff!

Im guessing the ring is functional without the subscription. Still..first we get subscription with samsung ai, now whatever this is? At this rate soon anc on buds will require a sub. How about health tracking on watches? Lets monetize that as well! Im really not looking forward to whatever is gonna happen over the years..

Crazy , 22 May 2024Only thiefs will buy and take subs for this 🤣This comment makes absolutely no sense at all.

Theives will buy and take subs?
Which theives will sell you a watch with aubscribe they stole?

If English is new to you translatw this back to your native tongue to see it it works properly or get Google translate cause in English it doesn't make Amy sense what you typed. Sorry not being rude but it's the only thing I can think of why something that makes no sense is typed so seriously.

DeepIn2U, 23 May 2024Wow! Its incredible the first 2 pages of comments regarding... moreso you getting it or nah?

Wow! Its incredible the first 2 pages of comments regarding the subscription.

It seems many of you have ab a okutrly NO concept of reading comprehension, you simply see 1 word then go off, and at that an emotional tangent.

The article specifically mentions "It's not clear whether this subscription is mandatory or just something that offers and enhanced experience."

Reading comorehension: NOT clear if subscription is MANDATORY or offers enhanced features!

                          The majority of comments: scam!
                          Next: I'm out.
                          Next: expensive.
Funniest: like car companies find another way to get consumers $, lol.

1st the product has NOT launched yet, and still cannot read an article that is NOT directly from Samsung!

2nd: Samsung is making a product, and possibly having a subscription that "may" OR " may not" be mandatory for subscription! Learn to READ ppl!

3rd: It is NOT a scam to offer a service.
Speaking of services that charge subscriptions let's have a HARD intellectual look:

                          Life Insurance!
                          Music streaming.
Movie streaming (funny how THIS business took off so quickly after Bittorrent offered getting movies for free BUT you guessed it ...
                          Internet.
Cellular Data - after you buy your phone (Retails or on contract).
                          Car insurance!
                          Home security!

2nd: can anyone name the first company or cellphone that offered cloud synchronization of ANY kind (lets start woth contacts, calendar, email, and from there let's think about apps and an app store).?!

^ answer is Danger, Inc.and yes started hy Andy Rubin from Google. Not only did it sync ALL the above which fully restored not just the apps but all your data, ringtone and preferences therein anytime you replaced pr upgraded your device.
MOST importantly, your data was unlimited regardless of your daily voice minutes too on T-Mobile USA.
The product was The Sidekick, data was less than $20/mth included 150 daytime minutes unlimited evenings and weekends one of THE first offered in N. America or Globally.

3rd to the bafoon who mentioned about cars as an example to to figure out another way to get your money clearly has NO understanding of car ownership:
Drive train warranty has a LOT of previous that you end up paying out of pocket. There is also gas, license plate registering (depending on where you live, various repairs from engine, alignment, rust paint, vandalism (car insurance), theft of your muffler (a BIG issue and insurance does NOT cover, yet driving without one see how long you go without hyge fines or getting the cat impounded.

3rd: Does anyone know how much Samsung's cos services cost to implement or maintain?! I doubt it!

4th: had anyone here have first hand experience what Samsung health offers vs Apple's?! Samsung offers a huge amount more including various workout plants that are NOT algorithmic or just their own! Also meal prep plans, and more ALL for free.

So it's quite acceptable for them to offer a competitively priced product AND a possible add-on subscription. Has anyone looked at the current smart ring pricing yet? The article mentions 1 that has a higher monthly cost BUT nobody here even Squaled at THAT!?

                          HMMM!

                          FOR THOSE WHO KNOW!
for those that don't always squeak back-chat.

The subscription is mute compared to the problem that they dont offer sizes above 12....

Congratulations Samsung! You just lost a day-one-buyer.
I wanted to replace the Watch 4 Classic with the Ring. Now I will neither buy the Galaxy Ring nor a new Galaxy Smartwatch.
Once this rumour is confirmed I will go with the Ultrahuman Ring which has no subscription.
Samsung forgets that the Ring does not have anything that would require the Samsung ecosystem (which I really love). The Ultrahuman Ring would just work fine with the rest of Samsung devices.

I am not sure whether the monthly subscription is legal in general, at least in EU! I can imagine that they could be forced to allow 3rd parties to read out the raw data.

I use a Oura ring for 2 years now and I don't pay for the subscription -hope Samsung makes their ring information same way as Oura did as also works without a subscription. Oura subscription is something I don't need tbh, I can read between the lines myself and understand my vitals stats.

I start hating this brand despite I was a Samung fan!I realize you just pay for the brand, now the y want a subsciption too!Btw my S24 Ultra that I bought less than 3 months ago not charging anymore by wire ,because of "humidity" despite my ohone was never in contact with water! No more Samsung products, all rubish!!!

I don't know what's worse. The tech companies for the idea or the tech addicts who buy it to feel like they're on the cutting edge.

                                      You're getting ripped off.

Was thinking of getting this, now definitely not.
