Unhappy HTC One S users, here's a petition for you. The phone doesn't show any performance issues with the custom ROM (see for yourself on YouTube), so HTC is talking bullshit. http://www.change.org/petitions/htc-give-the-one-s-continued-support-like-the-one-x

No Sony No HTC (Apple, who's that?)

Samsung may be the most hated by newbies, but damn their supports are the best

I have been a supporter of HTC since Diamond, then HD2, now One XL. When it comes to official firmware update, they always fall short of my expectation. I now have Nexus Android 4.2.2 on my HD2 and running smooth, kind of given me the chance to play with my phone's firmware but of course taking the risk that it may brick.

The hardware is truely capable of having a new update for sense 5 but HTC don't seem to bother about the 1 year old phone. I think this strategy might further harm HTC I will be disappointed if this will be going to happen with HTC One S.

Well done HTC. You have been successful in driving customers away from your brand. How much more idiotic moves are you going to make? HTC is famous for doing exactly the opposite of what needs to be done to flourish their business. Even if they do normal stuff, they will survive in market. But they are not satisfied with doing the normal, they want to do something worse. Well done. (Example- HTC sense 4 is a heavy UI which is available on low & mid range devices whose specs are not great. This UI creates problems on low end devices & so is unsuitable. All low end devices need to get the new Sense 5 which is much lighter & will enhance the performances of such devices. But NO..!! HTC wont do that. It will put lighter Sense 5 on high end devices which are all-by themselves capable to run smoothly even the heavier Sense 4 UI & deprive the low end devices their services when they desperately need it).
As per this news, HTC One S was a high end device when launched & should get the proper care & service. (Now if you dont buy high end devices forget HTC giving any service.) But its HTC. Again they have proved that their engineers are the most talented but management is most STUPID of all. Even a simple shopkeeper knows more about managing a business, making profit & customer satisfaction.

The HTC One X will get the same treatment, you might be lucky to get 4.2 but 4.3 forget it.

HTC ONE will also suffer the same fate, It will get 4.3 but not 5.0 as this will be saved for it's 2014 handset, where as the S4 will get both 4.3 & 5.0 & maybe the S3 to.

HTC have always done this they support their handset's for 12 months then just bin them, where Samsung have a 18 month update policy, christ even the S2 still getting some updates.

If you plan on keeping your phone longer than 12 months then it's best not to go with HTC.

Well I told you so, don't trust HTC when it comes to getting regular updates for their fractured system full of bloatware. HTC will dump loyal customers without a care in the world and have no interest in maintaining customer satisfaction or loyalty. HTC may be winning new unsuspecting customers with the HTC One but their disappointed past customers are deserting HTC in their droves. Perhaps Apple have got the best strategy after all. Android's achillies heel is beginning to show through an uncoordinated hardware and software strategy pulling in different directions with no continuity. Do I sound upset, I sure do given my experience with HTC customer service, I've had two HTC so called high end devices then dumped in less than a year and will never buy an HTC product again - and I'm not alone. I simply don't feel confident in buying a product when there is no guarantee I will get future upgrades and or support. If MS or Apple were smart they should exploit this lack of continuity and certainty.

i have new htc desire hd,htc promes to update Desire HD to 4.0.4 ice cream s. but at last moment htc canceled update. Now im happy iphone owner.
20.000 people write a petition for htc push update for desire hd but he didnt.now its same problem withs one s.
htc certainly lose costumers with this bad suport.i will never buy htc phone again, even though i love very htc phone.sorry for my bad eng. :)

I own a HOX and not sure if my phone will get v4.2 with Sense 5 update... I like the phone very much but I'm kind of done with HTC as its been a year I'm using the phone with only one update so far other phones like Samsung/LG have got 2-3 updates already. I bought this phone when it was new in the market & very expensive. I'm very sorry HTC I am not going to buy any other products from you and will ask my friends to do the same. Samsung seems to be a much better choice.

Like HTC,Sony also has dumped its xperia2011 line of smart phones. They are only upgraded to ICS once and no JB.The monster hardware in them are only useless for the nonsense Sony.If samsung can give JB 4.1 to 99 usd smartphone Galaxy Star, why cant you Sony.I have desided not to buy either any Sony or any HTC phone and rather go for boaring sansung devices.

stopping support just after one year is pretty poor, for something that is quite expensive. Sure it is not the top of the line, but it still cost as much as an entry level PC. Not even Microsoft would stop supporting an operating system after just one year.
