EU to charge Apple under Digital Markets Act, impose a fine of up to $50 million per day

15 June 2024
It all has to do with the "core technology fee" it charges developers who don't want to distribute their apps through the App Store.

Basically Apple is just testing the EU's limits. They'll incrementally lower the bar until EU is satisfied. They won't lose anything in the end.

If they gave all off them a $5 per hour raise, then at 40 hours a week and 48 weeks a year, that’s around 1.5 billion dollars. That sounds like a lot of money, but that’s only 1.6% of their net profit, so Apple definitely has the money to pay their employees better.

If they raise their workers salary by just $1 per hour, that's $147,000 per hour. At 40 hours a week, and 48 work weeks a year, that comes to almost $300million a year. So when people spout number like yours when it comes to CEOs are getting $10million bonus, it's still a few hundred million dollars cheaper than increasing worker's salary by $1 per hour. Not trying to justify anything , but scientifically, people do have problem estimating large numbers and equate one large numbers close together, even though it can be off by factors of ten.

                    Kill iOS, iPadOS, VisionOS, TVOS

Enhance your macOS, make it touch friendly, allow all apps on mac store.

                    Call that Apple OS.

                    Power and keyboard, buy macbooks
                    Power and touch, buy iPad
                    Portable and touch, buy iPhone.

All can get same macOS desktop mode if connected to monitor.

Then devices will fly off the shelfs, and you do not need to leech the app store soo much…

Companies don't own shares except for treasury shares. Shares belong to shareholders. By the way, hypothetically, if Apple makes zero profit, the stock price will probably drop more than 90%.
