As well as to formally discontinue any chipsets not included in their new lineup. This is just a poor marketing scheme.

Even phones with G99 right now competes with inferior 685 phones.

Tech Guy, 15 Jun 2024Well If 6s Gen 3 had 4K Video Recording + TSMC 4nm + Adreno... moreSpot on. I had the Redmi Note 10 Pro before and the processor (732G) while not being very strong, it had everything I could need for general usage and multimedia playback/recording.
You can't say the same about 695 or its rebrands.
And we haven't touched the Snapdragon 680/685 subject which is even worse.
