Since 7s Gen2 is just a OCed 6 Gen1, it is indeed a small upgrade for using 7 Gen1. Newer CPU Arch (A710 vs A78) and better GPU.

Bizarre chipset choice, but other than that it seems like it's gonna be pretty nice. It's weird that it's not an upgrade or downgrade to the edge 50 fusion, but a sidegrade instead

Wasn't this supposed to have a smaller display ?

anyways that rugged title seems a bit misleading. It's just another brick with a huge screen, and it's even curved, to make matters worse. And then, the phone being slim and lightweight, it just seems that it's going to fail massively in durability tests

In conclusion, I am disappointed. I for once thought they were actually about to introduce a rugged worthy phone

Mahesh, 25 Jul 2024What is the Price for Moto Edge 50?? 1) 128 GB 2) 256 GB... moreINR 24999 for base 8/128 & 27999 for 12/256. You can expect INR 2000-3000 discount from banks or first sale discount. Taking it to 22999 & 24999. This SoC is India's First 7+ Gen 1 called as 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition. It was globally used in Honor 90 meanwhile India variant didn't get one. Antutu Score ranges from 630K - 710K as per Smartphone Companies focus and optimisation.

Terrible chipset choice. At this point they should have gone with Mediatek

Motorola had exceptional phones like Defy or Moto X Force with indestructible screen. Mine survived incredible hit with tiny scratch on frame only, so it is possible to make a common-looking sturdy phone.

                          Motorola:

This is Edge 50. We are also making it with flat screen, it is called 50 Neo.

damn, the slimmest phone with an STD, nice ig

Motorola, is It so hard to understand that we dont want dumb curved screens but we want decent processor and very good camera ?? their product management is fail , they havent released a good phone since moto G5 plus. Just keep releasing rubbish and end up as LG or wake up, kick off your product managers and start from the scratch

good phone, can someone change this center notch, to some other :) a good design to the notch or you can even hide the notch at the back of the display :) can some oem do this, this would bring a better user experience, thanks :)

looking good. I am worry about a GG3 and a curved screen.
                                    But les see.
SD 7 gen 1 also nothing impressive but lets see the price first.

7 gen 1 is from samsung foundry and other devices with 7 gen 1 has heating and battery drain issue.

I think other people have made a good point about the MIL-STD-810H rating being a marketing gimmick.

My main worries are the curved display and SD 7 Gen 1. The former is going to be a pain to get repaired or replaced, and the latter is going to result in heating issues as with the Motorola Razr 40 and Samsung Galaxy M55/F55. A vapor cooling chamber did not help the M55/F55 at all (yes, it has one, as you can see on PBK's disassembly video of the M55). Only solace would be if Motorola decided to use a higher quality motherboard than the M55/F55, but I have doubts about that, looking at Moto's track record of making their budget devices look good on the outside but having lower quality innards.
