Samsung is doing good today but this will not be forever . Soon samsung is going to have the same fate as htc and motorola in the coming years . Many may deny this but it is a fact . And the cause of this will be what people think is samsungs power right now . ANDROID . Yes android is going to ruin samsung . Because android is an open source every manufacturer is making android phones . Small company like micro max sells more mobiles than samsung today in india . There is a raising popularity of brands like xiomi and huawei . One thing is they are far cheaper and are providing features which are pretty similar to main stream manufacturers . And they are gaining attention of masses . Price is the biggest issue here . That is what killing htc right now . And soon it will effect samsung too . Unless every manufacturer differentiate their products and services from others . They are going to suffer because of the genericness of the platform . Nokia knows that . May be its the reason why they chose to stand out rather than to blend in . When you are at dead bottom there is no other way but to rise up . Nokia is raising slowly but steadily .

Common_636, 18 Jul 2013Oh come on, that been so naive and arrogant. I consider ... moreamoled is NOT in any way invented or first used by samsung, and even then why is the device with highest sunlight legibilty list on gsmarena is topped by an amoled display from nokia(808),and if you think s-pen is innovative then maybe you don't know anything about capacitive stylus, and can you be more specific which s-feature is innovative? From innovative i mean "never seen before"...like the capacitive touchscreen of lumia 920 which works with not just a specific stylus,it works with nails, gloves, inkless pens and almost anything, something like the exmor sensor from sony, something like first 1080p display by LG,etc....

Nokia knew this would happen two years ago, that they would decline. Of course, they're doing better than expected with the push of Lumia devices.
That was two years ago. Change and profits should have been made in this time, that's what Stephen Elop promised. I'm not hating on him, he has his plans. But I'd recommend Nokia experiment with other mobile operating systems, such as Android (as I've suggested before, perhaps customise this Android to how they prefer).
Android would empower consumers as well as Nokia with their limitless customisations. Joining the Android race 2 years ago is not a short period of time, if they still join now, it's not late.

Poor you, Nokia. Lol. Hahaha....
As I've told you a couple of days ago, you should have to adopt ANDROID as your new OS competing any smartphone makers such as Samsung, Sony, HTC and even Huawei. Otherwise, just quit this smartphone race and see your own graveyards.
Love my Note 2. Microsoft should responsible for Nokia's failure in the near future. You'll see soon enough. Lol. Hahaha...

AnonD-55045, 18 Jul 2013Mechanical shutter and manual controls are the key. No othe... moreThose might be cool... but at the end of the day Nokia is still a phone manufacture, so the guy you replied to is perfectly right.
They still need to concentrate more on improving there phone capapbilities and improve on there user experience, Camera tech will only get them so far.

EVERYONE follows each other, seriously, you cant be this naive. If Nokia didnt follow anyone, they would still be with Symbian not WP
Thats how companies are successful, they MUST follow the trend of things to keep up and surpass in this business. are you for real?

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2013The camera of the 920 is also extremely good but it did not... moreMechanical shutter and manual controls are the key. No other phone, save for the Galaxy Zoom (can I say it's a phone?), has them. It's great to manually control the exposure time, focal length, white balance and ISO speed. And don't forget the Xenon (plus LED) Flash.

Common_636, 18 Jul 2013Why are people getting so bent out of shape for phones. i d... morenokia has never followed others...besides wp8 has a much faster roots with CLR compared to JVM of android...and wp8 supports native c++ code, which is light years ahead of modified java used for android....so yes,wp8 may not look so tempting as of now,but it is better than what android was 8 months after its release, and wp8 is improving much faster....

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2013i really dont get why people want 1080p screens, they lower... more"you cant [sic] tell the difference between 720 + 1080p on such a small screen"
Have you ever seen the screens side to side? Gosh, I got bad sight and even I can tell the difference easily. Troll harder.

AnonD-156746, 18 Jul 2013have you ever seen an innovative device from samsung.....See Galaxy Note series. They went there (big phone + stylus) when no one dared. Now people are following.
And in the components industry their screens, NAND flash memory and SoCs are among the best of the market and have come with true technical (not marketing related) innovations more than once.
I do agree they follow trends and products, but it's not like other companies didn't do that.

I consider their amoled screens to be very innovative
So is the capabilities of the S-pen
and maybe not to you but, there is such a thing as software innovations and whether u consider it as a gimmick, some of the S-features are quite innovative

i really dont get why people want 1080p screens, they lower the battery life by 30% on average for a resolution you cant tell the difference between 720 + 1080p on such a small screen.
1080p is meant for big screen 40" and up, not 4-6 " handheld screen.

Why are people getting so bent out of shape for phones. i dont think people hate Nokia, actually most of uf grew one with atleast or owned atleast one Nokia.
What i think pisses people off the most, is because Nokia is sticking with WP. I personally would like to see Nokia make an android phone.
But as mentioned before, i personally think Nokia is putting all of its eggs in the Camera Basket, they need to come with something more to pull more persons to them cause obviously WP is not the reason for Nokia sales, but rather Nokia's camera tech. it is obvious.

AnonD-166424, 18 Jul 2013check out lumia 1020 real picture samples.this is gonna sav... moreThe camera of the 920 is also extremely good but it did not make such a difference. I do not thing 1020 will make such a major difference. Most people will compare specs and they will only see 768p res and dual core processor. If Nokia indeed announces a quad core 1020p phone later this year it might attract more customers. I am not saying that the 1020 will not sell but it will not be the reason Nokia comes back. The way I see it the 720 is their best hope - low price and good specs to make the platform popular and attract new customers.

When Sammy launches their smartwatch, apple, Sony and the others will be left far behind the innovation curve, struggling to catch up.
