The tri-fold Huawei Mate XT Ultimate is official and boy is it expensive!

10 September 2024
It only has a single 10.2” screen that can fold in two. And the unique tech does come at a price.

Makes much more sense than single-fold foldable phones.

This is getting ridiculous....whats next 4way fold?

Oh wait is this Premium Pamphlet? 😭

I won't be picking up one, and I am not sure I agree with the soft screen also being the side used as the screen when the device is closed.having said that, the device looks superb, and Huawei really creates some masterpieces. And their smartphine cameras are also some of the very best too.

I wish Samsung would use the LG Roll design, on a square device, creating a large expandable screen for watching films.

Amazing, beautiful looking device! Wow! I wonder how good the battery life will be? Especially when using the full 10.2 inch screen, I thought the battery was going to be bigger because of that, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how good the endurance really is.

It is good enough if a phone has enough battery size to last you through a day (a 24-hour cycle starting from 85-90% charge and ending on 20-25% charge on a typical day). Anything more than that, while good to have, is certainly not necessary, especially given the fast charging tech we have today. And even if you are a heavy user, you can certainly find enough time to give a quick 10-15 minute topup sometime during the day.

In context of tri-fold devices, I'd rather have slightly lower battery life to achieve lower thickness... as for a significant fraction of the time it would be used in the folded configuration and there having a slimmer profile will immensely help the usability.

However, this is purely a personal preference and it is equally as valid to have a preference for a longer battery runtimes (with thicker profile) as well.

I don't even like normal single fold 😂
Anyways this handy white elephant ain't for people like me
