A smartphone isn't a fashion accessory. So I don't care much about design as long as it doesn't effect the usability and practicality of a smartphone in a negative way.

The big question is whether it will be Exxon’s exclusive or not. Getting concerned about the battery life though. The standby time of the S24 is fairly mediocre. Feels like Android with anything less than 5000mAh is a bit challenging in endurance.

Rk., 12 Sep 2024Looking really ugly... Same design for 4 years why... What ... moreIf you buy phones based on looks, why do you even buy Samsung? Go buy those cheap Chinese phones that changes their plastic backs every 6 months.

Snapdragon 695 hater, 12 Sep 2024You made me just think about something because looking at t... more8g4 is about $50-60 more than 8g3. But it depends on the deal each OEM is able to get from Qualcomm. Meizu, Asus, Sony will never get same or better price compared to Samsung, Oppo , Vivo and Xiaomi.
Anyway. Brands will be increasing retail price by $80-100 or perform cuts to keep same compared to 8g3 devices.
Cuts are easy for chinese brands since they can keep increasing the % of domestic components. Also their factories are in China, no need to pay import taxes for most pieces.
Foreign brands like Samsung and Sony will probably sacrifice important stuff like decent cooling, reuse some old camera sensors for periscope, same screens etc ..
The more expensive 8 series become, less probability to see brands like Nothing, Motorola and Htc to use it.
Since now 8 series is going custom cores, I have no idea if 8s will remain.

Theses tiny small phones are so useless.
You cant cram big battery and flagship specs into such tiny phone.
You cant type properly on such tiny phone.
Reading from such tiny screen is painfully awfull experience.
Tiny devices are easy to be lost or overlooked.
There is many more things which makes tiny devices useless.
Base average human which is 1,80m tall should use a proper big device thus 7 inch.
Base S25 should be at least 6.5-6.7 inch the plus model should be 6.7-7.0 and ultra should have 7.5 up to 8 inches.

Pheelzy, 12 Sep 2024This looks disappointing. 😔 Don't be fooled by appearances. It comes with 2% performance boost, 1% better camera, 6% reduced thickness but only 9% increased price

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024Yeah buttons camera bump looks like something from cheapo p... moreYou made me just think about something because looking at these screenshots it looks like a top range 'A' model.
What manufacturers are doing because silicon has become expensive this year is making phones look premium but putting lower end SoCs in them which really annoyed a lot of people looking for a new phone. Not only that the prices are going up instead of down!
Seems to me that Samsung might be cutting corners on everything else just to manage to fit in the Snapdragon 8 gen 4. I might be wrong but only time will tell!

I understand that "if it ain't broke, don't change it" is justifiable but, if you are going to offer a device that is marginally better than the last year's model and it looks the same, wouldn't Samsung and Apple just start making modular phones that you only change what you need every year?

Lister, 12 Sep 2024Is your keyboard okay? You seem to have typed that very angrily. Adding emphasis doesn't denote emotion, just highlighting a word or point. do you know the first thing about writing or grammar? This comment system doesn't allow for hold or italics so caps words are the same thing as a bold.

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024Apple does the same thing for it's telephoto and ultra... moreExcept, the iPhones' selfie camera is not good hardware. The sensor is too tiny and so produces soft pictures and struggles in dimly lit scenarios even more than other phones, and Apple's software processing for this is not very good either. They may even be using overly aggressive processing to try to compensate for the sensor's problems, which will always cause issues with the image.
Also, the selfie camera is ripped straight from the iPhone 11 Pro series, with the only changes to it being the addition of PDAF and IBIS.

"The flat sides are here to stay, apparently - at least until Apple decides to introduce a new style for the frame and every Android maker follows its lead all over again."
troll writer needs to be replaced or fired. I think you misspelled SONY, who is the company that ACTUALLY had a flat frame before Apple "invented" it for "courage", a full 5 months before Apple unveiled the iPhone 12.

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024Apple does the same thing for it's telephoto and ultra... moreActually, I was wrong.
Apple has been using the same sensor since the 11 pro series. They just added AF and OIS (unconfirmed) recently (with the 14 pro).
