Even if it's a 30 cm one.
It's just a greedy move, AGAIN.

I don't mind lack of a cable in box if it is a small, useless one.
But Airpods had a regular size charging cable in box, so that was nice (to the other commenter about PS5 controller, at least Nintendo gives a charging cable in box with Switch Pro controller)
Anyhow, Airpods 4 and Pro support wireless and magsafe charging too, if one forgets that.

Like most earbuds from other brands, Airpods never came with a charger to begin with.
So Apple looked at Sony and thought "we can do that too".
Sony headphones and buds don't come with a USB-C cable in box here for few good years, same with their phones and since PlayStation 5, the Dualshock 5 doesn't come with a cable in box.
So it's not like apple was the first one doing it, but their move will get way more attention than when Sony did it.

Most people complain without even having an iPhone, hahaha, don't buy it and that's it! I have thousands of type c cables lying around

Very little innovation this year, especially on AirPods Max which after "4 years of research and development" they managed only to swap the charging port. On top of lack of changes, they do cost cuts on a copper wire...

Man, this AirPods are stinky
I'll wait for the AirPods 6 so I can order it and only receiave a brick of plastic I have to shape myself in a case and pods!

Why do you need a USB-C cable? Anyone who buys an airpod, definitely has a USB-C cable. Why would they ship extra e-waste?

No one needs another bloody USB C cable, I literally have hundreds every single device I buy be it dog collar a light rechargeable flashlight. Anything these days comes with the USB C cable. This is a fantastic move and Apple should be applauded.

Wasn't the original argument for robbing us of the chargers many years ago, "Oh but you have so many chargers at home! Help us save the planet by allowing us not to give you the basic item that your product needs, but out stores are always open to sell em to you *wink wink nudge nudge"?
Now that their phones and accessories are capable of faster charging, where are the new faster chargers being supplied in the box Apple?
Capitalism 101 I guess: make money, Make money, make Money and Make More Money. Everything else be damned.
EU, need you to step in buddy, otherwise the things we are joking about today will become ground reality a year or two later.
