Now, here's what's going to happen in the comments. Samsung fans will insist that the Korean company is much more diligent about robustness and durability when it comes to foldables, and that's why it seems like its last innovation in the space was actually the original Galaxy Fold from 2019. It's spent all this time improving the minutiae, making sure every single detail about its foldables is perfect.

this could have been the greatest argument against it. Now let's see weight and battery performance.
Of course the 3000 price tag will remain as a concern, but we will see if its worthy.
Outstanding job from Huawei though to make it as thick as Samsung's bi-fold

and the technology gap will be widen year by year

I'm saying this based on several factor
              1. China have more STEM graduate than any other country combined.
              2. China have the best infrastructure, thus, China can produce anything cheaper than Korea.
              3. The Chinese admire and value innovation more than any other country. They very have a very progressive mind (their level of religious is one of the lowest in the world). They value science/education above anything else more than any other country.

                    What the actual faq GSMARENA?!
"how Chinese smartphone makers like Huawei with this tri-fold and Honor with the Magic V3 (and how thin that is) have been the real innovators in the space recently."
Since when making phones thinner and harder to Handel is innovation? I don't care who dose it, any manufacturer with that idea is dumb!!!!!

Vlad, please educate me and others: how is this a tri-fold. Did 'call' the other foldables dual-fold?

Nothing has happened in the comments, like you claimed. And nothing will. The end.

I'm going to boggle all your minds and side with both.

Samsung truly is dedicated to try and make their folding phones robust, since that really is their bread-and-butter currently, and Z Fold6 shows how far they've come in the past 4-6 years where folding screens have been a thing. While it may have taken them a lot of time, I think that's actually a good thing, when you consider other companies would try to cut corners to fix one issue and cause, oh I dunno, maybe five or six more.

However, what Huawei has accomplished in the boundaries of dictatorship is nothing to sneeze at. While I do worry about the Mate XT's overall durability, Huawei has challenged Samsung's choices before, and were one of the first (if not THE first) to have a folding screen with virtually no crease - a very bold move by the largest Chinese manufacturer, and one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in general.

I doubt very much this war between Samsung and Huawei will end anytime soon, and while I am indeed a Samsung user currently, I also recognize Huawei's achievements, and will be interested to see how Samsung responds to this feat of technology.

                            This shows two things:
                            1) Why Samsung is the only brand that has decreasing foldable sales while the rest see 500-1200% YoY growth
                            2) Making phones 0.x mm thinner really doesn't matter at all and they should increase battery instead. I care more about 5 min extra battery tbh.

Of course, what to expect from the Z Fold 6 that was already outdated since its conception? I honestly don't expect anything from Samsung, especially with these rumors that the S25 and S25 Plus will have no change in the cameras, it's pretty much the same thing as the S22, they just changed the front camera on the S23 and that's it, the story is even worse with the foldables, at least the Z Flip 5 gained a bigger exterior, it was the MINIM that Samsung should do.

The Samsung screen has the spen screen technology which I don't see too many technology articles mention when their talking about how thin competitor phones are. Personally, the spen on a larger screen makes sense even more so than on the S24 Ultra which I also enjoy. I'm also not looking for thinnest phone out there. For me durability, battery capacity along with software UI, security support, OS upgrades and camera technology are at the top of the list. I'm not sure I'd like a trifold personally as it wouldn't be as durable by design and one crease is better than two. I can appreciate the innovation though.

yk i didn't really expect this from gsmarena. i always thought you guys could only glaze samsung but this year the news and rumor writers seem to be feeling jaded like us as well. I respect that, not being blinded by bias and saying what's actually on your mind.

Either that or GSM are intentionally saying this stuff to spark conversation, either way, both are better than blindly liking something.
