Samsung may cancel the Galaxy S26

2026 could be a wild year for the Korean company.

dt031sin, 01 Oct 2024More and more android brands are trying to make the iPhone ... moreExactly.
I was about to buy S24 coming from S23U.
But it has EXYNOS.
Now only small phone left is iPhone 15 but it has patheric screen with 60Hz.
iPhone 15 Pro no longer available.
So had to buy iPhone 16 Pro. Eventhough I hate iOS.
Sigh!

    S25/S25+ should better have:

    - JN1 sensor in the ultrawide and telephoto cameras (maybe the selfies too).
    - 12GB ram and minimum 256GB storage (UFS 4.0) on the smaller S25.
    - Si/C battery (fast charging can be reserved for the S25+).
    - if they want to reduce costs, they can use Mediatek D9400 instead of Snapdragon (though this might not be possible in the US, idk)

These should be enough to sway buyers away from the Chinese offerings.

Then S26 can bring Qi2 wireless charging, 100MP camera in the main sensor, *the anti-reflective screen protector used in S24U* and better video quality.

Its because Fan Edition (FE) might replace Base S version, since FE price has touched the base S version's price. It might be also because Samsung has become too greedy to earn money.

we always see iPhone vs Samsung when people wanna compare between iOS and Android. But frankly, samsung's OneUI is not even the better flavour of android out there. so many missing features. so many locked functions. samsung will die like nokia in the next few years if this goes on.

But if they're cancelling anything then cancel the stupid plus size since it's almost the same as the ultra.
Or offer a smaller ultra like when they did the note 10 mini

I don't want a phone that I can't use with one hand easily

I still remember vaguely about this same debacle when they were selling Galaxy S10 series and rumour said that there will be no S11. Well of course, we got S20 instead.

I will not be surprised if indeed there will be no S26, but S30 instead for 2026.

I hope s26+ will have 6.8" and s26U will have 7" display. Bigger always better.

[deleted post]Shouldn't it be called mewing instead of yapping? I mean, yapping is the sound a dog makes and he is a cat.

I got lots of people in my area asking for recommendations when they try to buy Samsung S series, after some in depth explaining the base model normally overlooked, the thing is base model are good but since the price difference between vanilla and plus is not far off might as well go for the plus logically speaking, and they prefer bigger display as well too, i ain't talking about big thumbs or what literally women with tiny hands still prefer the bigger display, better viewing experience and obviously larger battery capacity, they might be some exaggeration to this omitting of base model

S25 isnt even out yet lol

                            Here's a thought:

Instead of cancelling the S26 why not make it this way..

                            A udc containing full-screen 6 inch s26.

                            A udc containg full-screen 6.3 inch s26 plus

                            A udc containing full-screen 6.6 inch s26 pro

A udc containing full screen 6.9 inch s26 ultra.

                            Something for everyone.

Chinese makers maybe preparing for an onslaught of high specced compact phones yes, but will they have a udc full screen phone as good as samsung's in two years? Also after sales service and support of samsung is very good in countries like india which is the second largest mobile market. So no matter how many high specced compact phones chinese makers launch...in countries like india samsung phones will still sell...although not as much as before.

Hence I am suggesting....udc containing full screen phones and a 6 inch screen-sized flagship which correct me if I am wrong anyone...nobody is selling and I doubt will sell in two years.

If samsung still doesn't want to make their flagships full screen...it could atleast make the ultra and pro full screen for starters ( thereby boosting sales of these two models and making up for the presumed fall in sales of the s26 plus and ultra according to the article) and make the plus and pro too full screen the following year.

I think 2026 will be about time full screen phones should come along. Also, apple will be preparing a block buster update to it's iphone line in 2027( 20 th anniversary of iphone) so if samsung makes pro and ultra full screen in 2026 and the plus and the normal s26 full screen in 2027...its flagship line could withstand competition from iphones in 2027.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2024Big and bigger. Oh I love illusion of choice. Small phones are pushed out because most people use their phones as a small computer, larger screen means better content display.

Let's not get into small phone always struggling with battery life.

Look I think small phones has a place but people just don't buy them, when a company releases a phone at two sizes the small ones often get ignored.

The correct move would be to price the plus at the level of the base. I think even putting the display at 1080p would be fine since galaxy default at that anyway.
