Anonymous, 02 Oct 2024I am sorry, but OneUI is the best version of Android, and t... moreOne UI 6.1 doesn't have a vertical menu option with Home Up. There is no automatic power-saving feature when the battery is low, but it can be activated using routines. Notification categories are disabled by default; you first need to enable them and then navigate to each app's notification settings to deselect categories. This process involves too many clicks, while in stock Android, you can manage these settings directly from the notification panel for each app.

Additionally, there is no option to set an image on the AOD (Always On Display) through the settings. Instead, you must use the Gallery app, which sets the image but makes the clock quite small. The only alternative is to use Good Lock's Clock Face to create the clock design and then set it with LockStar; however, this results in a lower-quality render of the image.

There are many other issues as well, such as making icons circular, which can only be done using Theme Park and is not a native feature. Moreover, the weather app doesn’t appear in the app drawer; you have to enable it from the weather settings.

Without Good Lock, One UI feels quite barebones in terms of customization.

If they stop put their crappy Exynos chipsets in the Vanilla phones for the rest of the world then maybe they would sell more. I didn't buy one for that exact reason. I'm not importing from Canada or the US as they restrict many features in the software and Volte/Wifi Calling might not work. The battery life can't compare with a Qualcomm chipset

They will blame the cancellation of the S26 Vanilla on poor sales & consumer demand claiming consumers are opting for bigger screens

I thought only Sony would drop the Xperia 5 compact flagship line. This could be big news as Xiaomi and Google would be the only two brand to make a direct rival to Apple iPhone Pro.

It has gotten as bloated as Touchwiz was in its heyday.

Samsung Experience was by far a better experience. Go read the Galaxy S9 review.

Currently, I think Motorola and Sharp have gotten the right approach to Android. Clean Android with goodies on top of it. Pixel would be here if Google learned to do hardware properly

"Chinese brands are preparing an onslaught of smaller devices" - That's obviously false. They gave up on small flagships a long time ago. No one in China uses compact phones.
