One a device is it if warranty or additional warranty like Apple care / Samsung care then Do Not Update, because they (manufacturers) do not care.

notafanboy, 04 Oct 2024Pretty sure "SmartThings" is a Samsung app. &quo... moreThe writer implied that the bootloop started after an OS/firmware update: "The Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note10 series are far from current models, but many are still rocking them in 2024. First released back in 2019, Samsung hasn't abandoned them and is still pushing updates. However, a recent one caused a huge problem for some users."

It's not unusual for phones that has reached EOL to get system app updates. I'm pretty sure that Chrome, for example, is a system app on most phones. They could still be updated automatically if user didn't disable that. My redmi 3s from 2016 got some a couple of months ago. Mi Cloud has been incessantly crashing ever since one of such updates.

Pretty sure I didn't say or imply that "SmartThings" is not a Samsung app. And, sorry, you're quoting the source link, not this gsmarena article. Maybe you didn't understand my OP: what I had a problem with is this article, itself. It is misleading which is why we have people in the comment section referring to OS updates.

[UPDATE] I just noticed that RO actually tagged the article "Firmware Update." Well, I shouldn't really be expecting much from blog writers. They can't be accused of being good at journalism.

And here I thought it was OS update, but it seems it’s ordinary app update from Galaxy Store.

I see no update.. still using my Note10 though.
