11 October 2024
Some data is collected, but the same is true for other Androids - and even Apple's iPhones - claim the developers behind GrapheneOS.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2024I doubt the CCP actually cares about your data. But Goog... more"I doubt the CCP actually cares about your data."

Depends on who you are.

Does the US government take people in the night for "re-education" at some undocumented location for mentioning Tibet, Xinjiang, Hong Kong or being disrespectful to the Leader or National Values ?

Will you be jailed for wearing a "subversive" T-shirt ?

Taken away for holding up a blank sheet of paper ?

Etc, etc.

Only for 1 billion+ Chinese to worry about, maybe.

But if you ever visit China, then they've got a file on you.

And if you're a "person of interest" to them because you might have the possibility of access to business data or IP that might be useful to a Chinese company.

They of course will be analysing all data in order to spot "interesting" people to spy on.

Meanwhile Google just wants to make more money by targeting ads.

Someone please tell Samsung not to preloading their devices with Facebook and all its system files. Freaking annoying af. They must have received some kickback from Meta to include that in their device.
