      The old imx989 is innefecient in comparison + i don't think it has staggered hdr either, I'm not even sure if it can do 4k120 natively, and it's nothing special in video if the phone can't process every frame as good as the new sensor due to higher power consumption plus naturally lower dynamic range
      The old 1" may edge the new lyt818 in very niche scenario, while the the new one is imo a better all rounder
      Also 1" without variable aperture is just MEH i have the x100p and i struggle with closeup shots, there's some sort of focus haunting and the depth of field is too strong and I can't change that because no variable aperture.

            But for you they're doing nothing special hahahhahaha yeah they just have one of the best cameras systems, one of biggest batteries and literally first one to use the new cutting edge chip with modern quad curve display+ charger and case comes with the box
            It's not cool to say they're doing nothing special haha
            I'd go and guess that the new sensor may cost even more than the old 1" sensor, also that 200mp zoom should be expensive as well..

The LYT-818 sure as hell isn't better than the IMX989 when it's 70% smaller than it, even with all of the improvements it has. Unless it was a stacked sensor (and by that, I mean of the kind that the LYT-T808 is), there's no way that it's mathematically possible for it to be able to let in more light than something 70% larger than it, even with better optics and shorter signal traces and etc.

Sure, the 85mm telephoto is absolutely amazing, but downgrading the main camera like that absolutely sucks and is worsened by their scummy behaviour, where they claim that the new 1/1.31"-type Sony LYT-818 sensor somehow outpertorms last year's X100 Pro's Sony LYT-900 sensor. There is ZERO evidence that that's true. I don't trust a company that will lie about their product when they're downgrading something about it like this. I don't trust companies that downgrade their products in general, and especially not when they do this.

North American youtubers and companies have brainwashed people into only liking Samsung/Apple/Google and being afraid of any other company. As a result even if Vivo comes to that market, the sales would be a tiny fraction of what even Google gets. They'd be selling at huge losses. They already earn less profit than Google and Samsung per unit due to their superior hardware yk?

                        I'm not saying this is a HUGE problem, all im saying is, they're already jacking up prices without doing anything huge, if this continues we'll get more expensive flagships in the future. Think of this in the long term man, look at how the iPhone X came and flagships became 1k USD+ in terms of cost, then the S20 Ultra came and jacked up prices higher and now it's around the Note20 Ultra/S21 Ultra's pricing of 1200-1300 USD. If Vivo jacks up prices by even 100 usd in China, it's gonna lead to a 100-300 USD increase in the global markets.

                        Think about the consequences bro. I'm a vivo fanboy through and through but the future of this company is dubious if this continues. Hopefully they add other amazing cameras as well to make up for the price increases in the next generation

                              I have see some videos.
                              Blue looks better than other. Only shade that really looks like glass.

                              Interesting to see vivo and oppo dropped fake leather.
                              X8/8 pro have matte glass.

                                So yeah, it is almost a refresh with the same price(even if the SoC price have increased). I think it is ok.

The X100 Ultra was a big hit for Viv... moreyeah that's exactly what i think. they made the x100 series so good they couldn't possibly one-up this year, so they decided to cash in on the hype. Sad to see my fav phone company doing this but that's how businesses work.

                                    All of these are to be expected for year over year refreshes. These SHOULD come at no extra cost.

                                    The better screen argument would've been justified if these had higher refresh rates OR higher res screens, they have neither. Brightness jumps are expected each year.

                                    1 inchers allow better bokeh and better noise control. Vivo might be able to process the photos better but try using RAW and you'll quickly understand why size is important.

                                    The only thing that could warrant the higher price is the fingerprint scanner, that's it. But even then, the price hike is too big for just a fingerprint scanner. The new zoom cam is terrific, best in the business, yes, but they nerfed the main cam to make the production costs cheaper, not really cause for an uptick in price.

                                    I don't recall the X100 Pro having an uptick in price but that phone had the 1 incher and all the same stuff as the X90 Pro but improved upon them with a better ISP and added one of the best if not the best zoom cam on a phone, until the X100 Ultra came. If this phone deserves a price hike of 300-500 CNY, that phone deserved a price hike of 700-900 CNY.

                                      Also the new cpus were rumored to be expensive as well which is not really vivo's fault.

                                      Almost everything is improved and it's coming form someone who owns the x100 pro

                                      I'm taking about the pro ofc, i agree that the standard x200 is a bit underwhelming

                                        Vivo is making huge mistake by not launching globally at once. It loose the momentum.
