why usa don't have their own chip manufacturing plants

Good lord.. the amount of uninformed and childish comments here is saddening, but not surprising.

This is a temporary thing. It could be just a test run. It could never even happen. It's still a rumour at this point.

Samsung Foundry isn't going anywhere. They're working on increasing yields. They're the only competition to TSMC in the sub-7nm market.

Writing "Samsung" is rather stupid in this context. The chip designer (LSI) is a different company, Foundry is a different company and MX is yet another separate company. They have their own P&L books to look after.

We need more competition. Samsung and Intel fabs need to be on par with TSMC or maybe even get better. The higher chances of this happening is at Samsung Foundry, Intel is still too far behind.

We also need an alternative to ASML. But, they're so far ahead in this segment, that it's impossible to see any alternatives at the moment. But, let's hope there is, within this decade.

Do you know that they (your so-called "China" - People's Republic of China) prohibit Google, Meta (owner of Facebook and Instagram), and X (formerly Twitter) from operating in their market, preventing people from using these services? Have you learned about the "Great Firewall"?
When they ban these global services, creating a gap between them and the world, what makes you think "the user will benefit for the growth in the science/tech." ?

Is the Exynos design which is basically Arm architecture fundamentally sound, but that it's production (with the exception of the Exynos 1480) causes the heating issues. Because if that's the case they might fair well under this change.

All European and American technologies have been put into TSMC and the USA have control over it. USA keeps control over it and dictates who can use TSMC, thus creating a monopoly. ASML, Carl Zeiss etc can decide to stop supplying TSMC and supply other companies instead. But they won't, because they are bootlickers.
