Apple still dominates US smartphone market

Motorola has had an impressive quarter, though.

This is what happens when there’s price parity between iPhones and other Android flagships. When priced the same, consumers will gravitate towards iPhone. The brand power strength of Apple is clear. Furthermore, in the US, most people buy their phones subsidized under a carrier contract. Thus a $1000 iPhone is not that much more expensive in the monthly bill than an $800 phone.

The brand power carries on everywhere else as well. Regular consumers might start off with an Android phone, but in general, once they can afford it, they will get the iPhone.

potato4k, 22 Nov 2024Nah, the one benefitted from Huawei ban is Samsung. But Samsung can hardly force the US government to do so because they are not an US company.
On the other hand, Apple is an US company and in America lobbing a.k.a bribery is legal.

1.) According to USA everything is their technology or uses their technology, doesn't matter If the patent is valid or not or you bought a machine and using that you invented something else like the case with ASML or TSMC. You get blackmailed by USA.
2.) TikTok is a prime example how you are lying about free investment in US. If you are too successful and are a foreign company, you have to sell It to Americans or will be banned.

"America is the most free nation in the world where dreams are possible. Unlike china which banned google, youtube, instagram and facebook."
What a ridiculous lie, USA is not even in TOP10 for 2023 of Human Freedom Index on the other hand China is not in the TOP10 least free countries and It was made by US and CA institutes.

So If you don't have google, youtube, instagram and facebook you are not free or dreams are not possible?
In China you have alternatives to them and clearly they didn't have a big market share, so no real loss.
You should ask why they were banned? Did they follow Chinese laws? Likely not and were banned or were banned for security reasons.
And If you want to claim how bad that is, why is no Baidu(google alternative) in US? Would be blocked because of security reasons and you would be the first to applaud this decision.

Twitter and FB are propaganda tools and also comply only to US authorities, so obviously no choice.
