Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra camera leak lists pretty much identical sensors to the S24 Ultra

It seems like only the ultrawide camera hardware will be changed.

Eduard33, 28 Dec 2024Is hp2 the only 200mp made by samsung? HP9 is used by others, as is HP3, so there are other 200MP sensors made by Samsung that others can use. No one else makes 200MP sensors.

I mean, who el... more200MP 1/1.3" is inferior to 50MP 1" or 1/1.3" due to the base pixel pitch being a measly 0.6 microns. Binning is supposed to counter this but you simply can't beat the physics of light. When it comes to cameras, good in=good out, and binning will only get you so far when the pixels you're binning are that tiny. Not only that, but the optics aren't even able to resolve 50MP, let alone 200MP. Samsung should've just stuck with their 108MP sensor and improved their processing because we're at a point where Chinese OEMs are consistently having better image processing than Samsung.

                          Samsung has gotten lazy.

Sensors the same as their software. At least fix the camera software. Samsung being too lazy nowadays

                                Was to be expected.

I am surprised there is no downgrade like some chinese phones.

Samsung has so much control over their own hardware

By default they are already cutting costs, but even then they have to ensure they stay stale as possible

They have their guaranteed customers.. so there is no point in innovating

But I wonder if Samsung one might end up like legacy car makers like nissan and VW that got their business suddenly shaken up by tough competition

Nameless, 28 Dec 2024Now that is a flop, unlike S25 Slim. Why would slim be any better , would 2mm slimmer make much difference and end up struggling to offer improvement in battery capacity?

Why don't use jn3/jn5 for front cam?
