Bravosixgoingdark, 03 Jan 2025Even a budget phone from 2016 had better specs than this You probably haven't seen the launch prices of 2016 low end phones, have you? This falls flat compared to 2020 low end phones launched right before the global chip shortage. That was the time quad core phones became obsolete, for the most part.

Product manager in HMD needs to be studied for reason making this phone

Sergio Luiz, 03 Jan 2025HMD keeps launching devices that feel outdated the moment t... moreThe chipset is usable with stock Android, at least (due to being based on Cortex-A55 cores, plus my parents own Nokia C32 phones running on Android 14, with the same chipset), but 2GB RAM is safer being avoided. If they need to clear up their inventory, their easiest bet is to increase the RAM and storage to the supported maximum, and ask for a sensible pricing. If they don't offer repairability or any form of modularity, unlike their more expensive models, this release makes zero sense.

Most people will miss the point of the phone - it's a cheap phone for under-developed and developing nations, where disposable income for a lot of people is scarce, if any.
