Is Samsung thinking of ditching the S Pen in future Galaxy S Ultras?

We hope not but it sure looks like it.

STT, 03 Feb 2025I would take a 6000mAh battery over the S-Pen without hesitation.they can do that now without removing the pen, the ultra phones are huge and very spacious inside, they can easily fit a 6000mah battery inside of them, they're just too greedy and lazy to do so. probably every 2 years they'll increase the capacity by 200mah just to shut you up instead and claim innovation.

If Samsung removes the stylus on the next "ultra" models, then I will simply no longer have any interest in favoring Samsung and I will probably buy another brand. Because Samsung sells its "ultra" very expensive compared to other models without a stylus from other brands that perform better in different ways (photo/video/battery capacity/battery charging speed, etc.). I agree to pay a lot for a Samsung "ultra" only because it has the stylus, thanks to which I can do precision video editing, which I could not do with a smartphone without a stylus, it would be too complicated.

Samsung: put a 3.5mm jack where S-Pen port is. Do the right thing dudes

Sooner or later, Samsung will remove the S Pen feature from its smartphone for maximum profits.

If they remove the SPen they remove the one distinguishing flagship model that set them apart and become a generic player .

The end of the s-pen in the S series probably means the beginning of a built in s-pen in the Fold series. Nevertheless, if there's no Samsung phone with s-pen anymore, the S24 Ultra will be my last Samsung. Unlike many other users, I bought a Samsung because of the s-pen in the first place. I use it for so many things.

Do you know what would also cost cuts?
Sim slot removal, phone function removal.
Most people nowadays don't even wanna take phone calls, just texts.

If there is one thing that is the best inside a Samsung phone, then it is the S Pen. Which makes it different from everything else. Now if the S Pen is removed from the phone, then it can be the sure cause of death of the Samsung company.

I hope they dont drop the s pen. It's bad enough they took the bluetooth option off it. It would be nice to have the s pen and be able to locate it like other things. It's bad enough they dropped the note line and we had to go to the ultras to get the similar phone. And now it looks like they made it too tall again. I love the shorter Wiser phone. This years upgrade and the deals are terrible. for the price tag on it they should have given us better choices and better discounts etc

yeah, there's definitely greedy chaebols among the ranks of Samsung. That or shareholders are asking for more. Or both

s25 ultra uses the weakest battery in its categories ... all 2025 flagship have at least 5500 mAh ... so samsung used this year the s pen failure as a drift !

S25 series is a big mess this year and all battery test that you see here and there are fake paid reviews !

For me, S23-24Ultra is the best. if without the s pen Bluetooth, i will not go for Samsung. So s25 Ultra not my cup of cake. if s26 ultra still like that. i probably will buy another S23/4 Ultra to keep.

you cant have both, durable screen on drops and scratch resistance.
Glass is more soft and its saves from drops and bad scratch resistenace, or hard glass with bad on drops and good for scratch resistance.

vik457, 03 Feb 2025First they'll shrink in other markets, then they'... moreTheir deals in the Middle East have become worse, for pre-order in most countries it's a 1 TB upgrade and a 2 year warranty for a free singular screen replacement, yes just one time only valid for 2 years. Last year it was a free 65w charger with free replacement for 2 years and a storage upgrade, the year before they gave all of that for the S23 Ultra alongside free Galaxy Buds and a 50$ coupon from their stores. Samsung has been slightly clingy on bonuses here, unsure about other countries though.

Probably, it felt like it was forced for the s25 ultra after they added qi 2. they didn't even wanna bother to engineer a new mechanism or workaround for it, which is fair that costs more money and all but probably for the sake of even saving up, it'll be gone by the next year/few years.
