If we compare the official specs:
          Magic7 Pro uses a 3rd gen silicon-carbon battery
But the 7 Lite uses a silicon carbon battery of an unspecified generation.
So perhaps the "3rd gen" is the problem (so to speak) in the EU?

DarlingYext, 28 Jan 2025Hungarian reviewers haven't received the phone yet, an... moreyeah but my point is that most reviews and reviewers had gotten the 6000 mah one and we didn't really know of this change TILL NOW. Like if you go to the X200 Pro spec sheet on gsmarena you'll STILL not see the smaller size. I think that yeah, it's obviously not illegal/a scam because they have it in their product page but if a well reputed site like gsmarena didn't know of this and didn't have it in their database till now, how's a normal person supposed to know? Even when someone's a tech enthusiast, he's just gonna go on gsmarena's spec sheet to check the specs, and it's not available here either.

So unless someone has been snooping around the news tab of this site every day or has an idea of the changes that EU models have in chinese phones, they're most likely going to be uninformed.

There is no legal reason to why they cannot have a 6000mh battery in EU.

They do this to save on costs and increase profits.

The only future requirement will be from 2027 onwards where all batteries on mobile phones will need to be removable like in the old days.

Chinese companies overcharge Europe and US markets for the simple reason of profit.
                Because they can.
The same way Apple does and Samsung follows. This makes others also follow suit...

Example the VIVO x200Pro 512GB costs 5999 Yuan, this is around 665 GBP
If you go to Wonda the same model is 738 GBP for CN and then 990 GBP for the Global version.

Same thing with the OPPO Find X8 Pro in UK at their store 1049 GBP and in their Official CN store 5699 CNY equates to 632 GBP
If you go to Wonda its 899 GBP which is a massive difference to the official UK store.

I questioned Oppo UK store they said they are a reseller and need to make a profit.
That is fine, but Wonda already makes a profit and is significantly cheaper.

*Note: Spike in phone prices only really picked up once Apple entered the market.
Same with removing features and things.

Take of all this what you will but corporate greed at its best.

You're correct, EVEN WHEN Vivo is essentially scamming people, they're still providing better products than Samsung. That's exactly why I call em Scamsung. And I did NOT say it's ok, I just said it's better than the S25+. If it were up to me the S25+ would be illegal and the X200 Pro would have a 100-200 euro price cut wherever the phone has a smaller battery.

                                        1. The 6000mAh model in Czechia may not be the real, official offer from vivo but some sort of "grey import" from China, whith the trader having installed the global version firmware. That's at least one possibility.

                                        2. Maybe local, national regulations have overruled EU-regulations, with some EU countries allowing a certain size or capacity while others do not.

                                        3. Maybe the 5200 mAh version does not just have a smaller battery but also changes in internal design and structure (e.g. Mainboard, placement of various modules etc), and vivo planned to make only a relatively small batch of these differently designed devices, which is why they are available only in some countries but not in others.

So, all of this is just pure speculation, and I wish some industry insider would reveal the true reason.
