It's strange that you care about software and ignore the outdated charging technology of the competition in terms of price.
One company relies on the illusion of better software, while the other relies on modern solutions and leaves software issues to the user's control.

Midrange usual they are released around Q2 so they are not Available whole year, so hard for them to be in list if they appear less than 3 quarter.

If you check quarter sales you can find them,

Arguably A55 is best A5x ever only A52s can compete with it.even though it's not sold in big markets like USA it manage to enter in those top seller list.

I wouldn't say, and I definitely don't think you are anything bad for your decision, after all enjoy what you have.

However what I gotta ask is, why does it not make sense to spend $1000 on a phone just because it's chinese?

"Pls Vivo and Xiaomi's software is imo deal breaker for most."

I mean it depends on which software it is from vivo, but realistically neither should be a deal breaker, FunTouchOS is almost like stock Android, very clean, while OriginOS is very feature rich, but it depends on the person really, to me OneUI is a deal breaker, so I guess anything could happen.

If you still think I am stupid, so be it. Reality is most people wouldn't pick Chinese brand for 1000+ phones no matter how good they are. Plus, my s24u gives almost 9-10 hrs backup which is same as OP12. Battery capability isn't a problem for many though would love to have faster charging.

Pls Vivo and Xiaomi's software is imo deal breaker for most.

Without Samsung admitting to it, I can tell you that making your own products as close to the real "deal", and pricing them the same, will make people simply just get the real "deal" and not buy copycats. This explains why even an old and now discontinued iPhone 13 made it into the list.

A few years ago, Samsung always sneaked in with Note or their premium midrange offering of the time, but how times have changed now that they sell scam versions like the FE, their flagships lost all unique features and their midrange lineup is going through the same lost of value. I wonder how things are faring in South Korea, where I suspect they are probably losing market share like crazy.

Not even the A55 made it in, and not even the A35, which is being sold in the US. This says a lot of the state of things.

Edward Coventry, 13 hours agoYet again a compact phone is global best sellerbro it's the cheapest "non-peasant" (in other words an iPhone that's NOT an SE model) iPhone. Ofc it'll sell. Look at the 2023 sales figures and how the iPhone 14 was so close to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Just think about it man, the 16 series wasn't selling that well and the base 15 got the very important upgrade of having a dynamic island, due to that people won't feel "poor" when using a base iPhone, thus they went out and bought that instead of the top end ones.

Goes to show why Apple is so adamant about keeping their base iPhones at 60 hz, without feature disparity, people will just get the base phones and even with big spec differences, the iPhone 15 dominated.

Good business decision but i still find it funny how the most sold phone in the world in the past year was a 60 hz, 128 gb 800 dollar phone. Just proves that you can sell anything to the average consumer if the brand image is strong enough.

Samsung being on this list isn't that impressive considering the fact that the S24 Ultra has had the most aggressive deals on phones that I've ever seen yet ig it also shows that people are still sort of willing to switch to android flagships more and more now. Vivo and others need to do 2 things before they can be considered acceptable by the general public :

1.) Better selfie cams/selfie cams with autofocus
2.) less aggressive portrait mode/human subject processing. Oppo has halos around subjects in aggressive HDR scenarios and Vivo brightens/softens the skin too much.

It does not matter that the brands lock their phones so you can't install any other Android on the phone. Or you just dont understand the word meaning is the issue here.

Never mind that phones are not like desktop computers or laptops that you can buy without any operation system installed on them and then you pick either what ever version of Windows or Linux to install on it on your own.

Edward Coventry, 13 hours agoYet again a compact phone is global best sellerI have said it for years that standard iPhone and standard Samsung S class sell really well and are compact phones. And marketshows that people want compact size.

Even tough all the brands give out a reason why they dont make compact size phones is that market dont want it as market want larger screen phones.

Also these 2 have proven that you can have large screen without bezel in smaller body cause 6.1-6.2 inch screen is pretty large if we compare the past where it was at best 5 inch screen and body size was same and then these phones were not compact in size.

Sadly compact phones are only flagship segment that the majority of the market cant have. I am not saying people are poor and can't afford. It's not the problem. It just makes no sense to buy a super computer if all you use is a calculator.

Sadly there is nothing in budget to middle class with small size of a phone.

Bro the S24 Ultra's competing with a 2 (now 3) year old base iPhone 13 and their own entry level phone, the A15.... 💀💀💀

The Scamsung fanboys were flaming me and talking to me like Samsung's sales are Earth shattering yet THIS is the base of their arguments? LMAO. Keep in mind that Samsung's phones fall in price the quickest in the industry and Samsung gives the best deals and discounts in the industry, so even with all of that, they couldn't break into the top 7, let alone the top 5.

Also helps a lot that there is no competition with the operating system.

IPhone run IOS while all the rest run Android what is open source for everyone to use so there is massive competition in every price range with Android phones.

If iPhone would be also on Android then they would not dominate anything and be at best like google pixel

It is normal for a brand with experience, notoriety and selling few models to rise to the top of the ranking. Brands selling around ten models each year see their sales scattered
