It won't have any rivals in terms of the sheer hardware used.

vik457, 05 Feb 2025No? Ov50n is 1/1,3" while ov50x is ov50x is 1" typeOv50h and ov50k are 1/1.3" sensors. OV50N and OV50X are unreleased 1" sensors. You really have no clue what you're talking about

'hardware-wise, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra really won't have any competition whatsoever.' The hardware on the Oppo find x8 ultra will be every bit as good. Same main camera, far better 3x camera which is not far off the size of the HP9 4.3x on the Xiaomi and miles better than the relatively small 3x on the Xiaomi, a far superior bigger ultrawide and a 1/1.95" 6x camera (much smaller than the 4.3x on the Xiaomi but longer reach and even this 6x is far bigger than Xiaomi's 3x and ultrawides). Therefore VLAD's comment about no competition hardware wise is not accurate at all. Both phones are relatively minor camera upgrades on the predecessors though. Xiaomi is upgrading 1 sensors (the long range zoom one) but downgrading in two areas, the ultrawide and the main sensor is removing the variable aperture which is another downgrade. Oppo will have no downgrades but also is only upgrading one sensor, the 6x zoom. So basically long range zoom should be the only real hardware upgrade for both of these and with Xiaomi you also get a couple of downgrades. Minor upgrades are the trend though for cameras. Probably the more significant upgrade will be battery capacity rather than cameras. For Xiaomi there haven't been really sigificant camera hardward upgrades since the 13 ultra and arguably even the 12s ultra.

Waiting for Samsung 400 and 600 Mpix they were working on for many years. Still its not here what a shame.

Please remember to consider the lenses in front of the sensor. It’s not true that when we see the same camera sensors in different phones, the software alone makes all the difference.
I would appreciate it if GSMArena reviews could focus more on lens attributes, such as corner softness, line resolution, and similar factors (under the same distance and lighting conditions).
Additionally, it would be great to see low-light photos taken with handheld shots—preferably reproducible tests with the same kind of artificial shaking.

A good thing about Xiaomeme would be rooting - which is going away on it.

So by quality you have an 3 Times camera and an 8.6 times Periscope.

At 4.3times the secondary persicope has a sensor kf similar quality as the main camera on the S25Ultra.

The Phone can zoom up to 17.2 Times before having to resort to digital upscaling.

For comparison, the S25Ultra needs to resort to digital upscaling after 10 Times zoom.

At 17.2Times zoom, you are already comparing an 12MP image to an about 4MP one, the difference is just that high.

[deleted post]These haven't even been officially launched yet so you can't be sure of the specs yet. I remember last year reading rumours here of Xiaomi using a one inch type Omnivison sensor in the Xiaomi 15 ultra but it never happened. It was also published here that the OV50K would be a 1" type sensor but it ended up not being. Obviously a a 1" type sensor is coming from Omnivision (or maybe a jointly developed one with Huawei first) but whether it would be an upgrade on the LYT900 or not would remain to be seen

I'd like to have what Vivo is preparing with it's X200 Ultra (LYT 818 UW-WIDE, LYT 818 35MM MAIN, HP9 3.x(?, 85mm,100mm?) HPX) instead of two crappy useless sensors that are on the ximi

Also I'd like to see what's the max you can get from Samsung's ALoP technology, would much rather have that than HPX and a brick of a phone if possible..

Not only that but now you can get proper photos at 4.3x zoom aswell

Lets wait and see how it stacks vs the current xiaomi flagship, this is probably the year im switching fron samsung s24ultra to xiaomi, as the s25 ultra is a joke rn.

let's see how it compares with x200 ultra, is interesting how they fit that many and big sensors alongside 6000mah battery

It also works on low light as proven by ample Motioncam testing. It filters noise since merging two gains helps it identify noise.

a mirror-less camera and lens that can be attached to it should come in-the-box.
don't want multiple camera to take space in finite space.
rather have bigger battery and better sounding speakers.

as phone becoming more photo/video graphy centric but never reach the level to dslr without lens.
