MediaTek, seriously what are you guys doing!? Might I suggest using all that power and resources on improving the 7xxx series instead?

Helio g90t from note 8 pro 2018/19 still has faster gpu than this trash 🤣, the only downside is they're not supporting it driver wise, also game devs do not optimise games for it.

LOL. Basically G99 5G. Same node + 5g modem = slightly worse battery life.
Snapdragon 6s gen 3 is gonna smoke this one.... imagine the scraps we are fighting over here...
G99 was an admirable 4g low-cost chipset, but come on now, A76 cores in 2025 is criminal. At least use A78 as the 6s gen 3 does. This thing belongs to a museum, right beside the pharaoh coffins.

Jack Kracker IV, 17 Feb 2025For mid-range mobile devices, I guess it's fine(?).
S... moreMaybe you miss Lunar lake? As of now it's best X86 portable cpu, and usual compete or even beat Snapdragon X as far as battery life and perfomance at low power is concerned.

Hemedans, 17 Feb 2025It's from G90, first Mtk design with 2xA76 and 6 x A55. Which is from 2019, 6 years ago!

The D700 has been used by 90 different phones without the 6000 series. That's a lot and I use D700 too, it's a nice SoC in 2020-22 budget phones but not now.

That Dimensity 810 that the 6400 is essentially derived from is a 6nm and slightly overclocked variant of the Dimensity 700, a 5-year-old chipset!

Also, with only a 100 MHz speed increase to the A76 core, Mediatek should have just named it 6305.
Mediatek should not follow Intel's mistake with their 13 and 14 series.

So it's basically the same.
Getting tired of Dimensity 6xxx series. It's like they're trying so hard to prevent the newer cores to trickle down to lower end SoCs.

For mid-range mobile devices, I guess it's fine(?).
Since Mediatek is focusing their attention on their "Mediatek-nVidia" chips ,that could "probably" compete with Snapdragon X.
Do keep in mind, "probably", as we don't know the specs or is it really a directly competing with the Snapdragon X, but for sure Mediatek-nVidia is cookin somethin.
I hope they succed.
I hope they can compete.
Competition is good.
Competition can force the other to improve.
Qualcomm shocked Intel with their Snapdragon X, which is now punching-up their weight class (laptops).
Intel could have responded, but with the 13 and 13.5 series (I'm never gonna call it a 14 series as it's not even an and the naming is purely marketing) and the poor launch of their 200 series, Intel is not in a good position to respond.
AMD on the otherhand have hand-held chips but they are not yet there for mobile phones (Tablets, maybe).
Also, I hope Mediatek-nVidia chips can be the competitor for Qualcomm's Snapdragon X.
Just like how Intel and AMD is competing with each other (though at the moment, Intel isin no position to compete due to it's recent blunders).

Darth Caesium, 17 Feb 2025Proof? Source? Or is that just baseless speculation from you?Phones with this chip at these prices are intended for those who don't understand anything about phones and want to buy a midrange phone, like those who buy Galaxy A3x or A5x phones with Exynos chips.
