[deleted post]stop talking rubbish, your the fan boy here clearly, im simply stating that ALL phones can and will break, I have never mocked iphone about screens, my posts are generally clear and simple facts, the only time i have ever mocked iphone was with the iphone 4 or 4s was it, when it had signal problems and customers were told by apple "your holding it wrong", that was f**kin laughable, it is a simple fact that a phone is a phone, and will break if dropped wrong,i work in a phone store in the uk, and have seen every model possible come in with screen damage over the years, htc, samsung, iphone, it does not matter, displays are fragile, END OFF!!!

      Surely this is common sense.
I WANT other good manufacturers to realise this & create better competition because we all agree the Samsung design aesthetician could be improved.
If you invest in a smart phone it's for a period of 1-2 years. Over time products wear. If I can replace panels to increase longevity I'll compromise on a nice looking back panel (or overall design) that will explode upon impact when dropped.
Metal would be pandering to simpletons. Carbon fibre (lightness) is the smart way to go -imho ;)

Samsung could go for aluminum only if want to cut down the production price of the phones.(aluminum phones are cheaper to produce)
I hope they will not do it , and not to trade vulnerable tin-can for no swappable battery, SD , wireless charging.....

design is not just about the materials .its a philosophy of functionality, practicality and durability . for example iphone 5 looks good but succumbs to a lot of wear and tear on prolonged usage. nexus ,optimus and xperia putting impractical glass panels which break like shit when they fall. the best and the most practical design philosophy is with htc and nokia. for example lumia 920 looks like a tank and works like a tank eventhough its just plastic.

Plastic is not the problem. The Nexus tabs have great plastic backs. Nokia's plastics feel good, even with their feature phone. Just shift to thicker poly-carbonate cases.

Everyone has "a friend of mine" who smashed their galaxy to bits blah blah crap. A phone is a phone. If it lands the wrong way it will break end of, i work in a phone shop and I have seen EVERY single model come through with screen damage. There is no such thing as an smash proof phone. Even the tough phones only survive limited drops. As for plastics on galaxy. Really if all u care about is the aesthetics u actually need to re evaluate your life. plastics are durable and flexible, i do admit that the design materials are now a bit dated but having seen the state that the aluminium devices come out after average wear and tear it is of no surprise why plastics are used. That being said, it is good to see that samsung are prepared to try new materials due to public demand

Samsung is just newbee and... moreYou're either from another planet or have had your head buried in the sand for the last decade.Samsung are the world's largest consumer electronics company (NOT the largest earner as they don't over price their products like some companies do),and they supply more parts to other companies than anyone else who also sells to the end user.
It's be a shame if Samsung did change to metal bodied handsets purely for marketing reasons, just to please the ignorant people who can never understand the engineering reasons why they use a composite material commonly referred to as plastic. One reason I've stuck with Samsung for so long is that my plastic bodied handset would outlast any metal bodied in the environment it has to survive in.

and galaxy s2 was an ugly rectangle brick, s3 was an ugly curvy pebble, and s4 is a fancier ugly pebble.
lets see samsung create phone thats as good looking as xperia z, or lumia 925/928, or LG G pro, or moto razr, or oppo find 5, or nokia n8, or xperia ion, or even bb z10

don't use metal or aluminum samsung, that gonna be a bad thing. start with no sdcard slot, no removable battery, easily chip, scratch and dent and easily electrocute when charging,
i hate touching my macbook pro and ipad when charging.
plastic is okey as long as not glossy hyperglass.
soft touch plastic or mate non glossy will be welcome, it is cheap, it is strong, it is light weight, the only wrong thing is glossy.
