The article is talking about 5G network equipment, not cell phones. The arguments on here are very ignorant. Countries use network equipment for financial and security reasons. They're referring to hardware at the infrastructure level not the end of network cell phones.

Either people like you are malicious or government propaganda like these and the other Apple/Google cases have worked effectively.
Everyone's looking after their bottom end and by attacking Apple and others over minor stuff/letting them go makes it seem like governments are trying to do something about em. The only good thing the EU did is the USB Type-C thing, and that would've come sooner rather than later anyways.

In those cases, the EU was very much the hero. Here though, they are the western villain 🤷♂️

While I'm sceptical about some of the allegations thrown at Huawei, I think there's no smoke without fire in this case. The EU and Belgium are VERY different to the US.
What's more interesting is the amount of people rushing to defend them.

Companies and their dark activities which don't consist of just bribing one or two politicians to save the company from being banned because the entire western world conspired against you.

Huawei is just going to do questionable things. It's a part of their business practice. I could actually see how bribing benefits them, unlike selling embargoed equipment to Iran or stealing a robotic arm.

He has no expertise in technology but they hired him to a PA role so why does it matter? If they hired him to R&D then sure but PA is more or less the same regardless of sector
