Anonymous, 21 Mar 2025Some phones already pass 15mm thick ( body + cam bump) Yep 15mm is very optimistic. Nubia made an unreleased prototype with a 35mm imx 989 some time ago and the total thickness was around ~19mm

1/1.56" 65mm with an f/2.1 lens
1/1.95" 135mm with a ~f/3.2 lens

Honestly not impressed. The main sensor should be twice as large.

Samsung wants to offer " beautiful photo".
It is on purpose. Same way google boosts contrast.
It is not lack of capacity to do better. It is choice.

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2025" I am going to give free pass because vivo is 🇨🇳, if ... moreis not really a downgrade because of the 35mm lens which takes more space and that sensor(present on x200 pro) is supposed to have unlocked hardware HDR which is a huge deal, means no more photo staking, faster shutter especially in low light and no white hallows around the subject
yes sensor size matters but there are other things that matter too and your proof is that x200 pro with same main sensor size as samsung takes better pictures with more details and dynamic range in lower light

"sadly, the X200 Ultra is not expected to get a global launch and will be one of the growing number of China-exclusive Ultra flagships."
happily i can order it from china in 5 mins and origin os is superior to funtouch and will cost 300 euro cheaper that if it were global, fixed.

JURE 75, 21 Mar 2025This would be great if true, but I haven’t seen this info a... moreI saw it on many Chinese videos. The camera originally at launch switched to the periscope at 4.1x rather than 4.3x which would make it around 94-95mm as the main camera is 23mm. On an update though Xiaomi disabled allowing you to switch to the periscope at 4.1x and instead only allowed the switch at 4.3x in photo mode. Xiaobai, a Chinese reviewer showed this. I guess they were trying to hide the fact that it's not truly 100mm with the update. However even after the update in Video mode it still switched at 4.1x. I also tried it myself in a couple of stores in China shortly after launch and the zoom was 4.1x as that's when the periscope switch happened

[deleted post]> why no one can fit it in a pocket, why it’s impossible to use with one hand, why it’s impossible to use it with two hands, why it’s so heavy
Majority of people who bought this phone has common sense though. They know that the biggest advantage (great camera) comes with the biggest sacrifice (usability), so they wouldn't mind with all of the things that you mentioned above.
And oh yeah, there's the X200 Pro Mini or any mini phones from other companies if one prefers a lighter phone that fits into a pocket or can be used with one hand (just like me). But of course, the camera won't be as good as the bigger/the most expensive one. That's why more choices are good for consumers.

So they will use the huge ultra-wide for 12mm and 24mm with sensor crop.
And then have main for 35mm and 70mm and the telephoto for 85+.
Not bad, it will be the most seamless zoom implementation yet. Just worried about the camera bump thickness.
