Apple wants you to use the iPhone 16 without a case

It's quite unprecedented.

Ok I will paraphrase it. The content of this is specifically made to improve engagement by dramatization and evoking feelings in the reader which would not appear if a neutral style was used.

Dropping on a wooden floor doesn’t make any sense😂

      Just remember:
The only industry that genuinely wants well being of the customers... is the insurance industry.

      None else. Mark my words.

I have been using phones without case since 2018 from galaxy to iphone to pixel all of them are sturdy enough to survive minor drops the joy of using phone without case is something else you can truly feel your smartphone while using it without a case but i do prefer using a screen protector because even though we are in 2025 the smartphone screens are still very prone to scratches

For everyday use I have my phone "naked"

On travels or when Im out in the dirt, I put on a case for these situations.
A case with a built-in stand for travels
A complete case + shield and rubber plugs for work in the dirt

Yes, until it falls flat on the screen on concreate that has a random small stone there and it shatters your screen (been there, done that - with additional screen protector no less, it broke both the protector and the screen).

              it's a trap!

The case is the phone's clothing. Using a smartphone without a case is like being naked. No one walks around naked so why to use a phone without a case?

I gotta use a phone case, the OtterBox Lifeproof series.

I work construction, phone is dropped in weird places, walls, pits. Used for inspection where a dedicated camera isn't practical. It's exposed to dust water, acidic environments, alkaline environments to literal crap.

A $100 case is hell of a lot cheaper than replacing the phone or repairing it.

Any flagship phone Apple or Android would survive mere seconds in an environment like that. We don't all have office jobs in a clean environment.

Anyone who sees my phone (xiaomi 12x) talks about how beautiful the curved screen is. And it really is, but my next phone would not be a curved screen phone, because they are bad to handle and you would have a lot of miss touches.

A phone is a utility product. It should have utility over beautifulness.

If i was rich, i would probably not use a case and repair the screen and sell the phone once it cracked.
But no, I'm not and i should protect my 12x for at least 2 3 more years.

I hate cases and screen protectors. However, there's a first: the Tecno Camon 40 pro case looks better than the phone. I kid you not. So I use it. The screen protector came off and I'm not going back to it. I hope the corning gorilla glass 7i will do the trick.

Trade-in, in every form of the word, is a marketing approach to reduce a concessionary discount off of a new device by means of exchanging, which in turn, increases e-waste due to their poor handling of the devices sent into exchange. And yes, I never pay in full for new devices, as a discount after few months after launch is typically a bigger amount than what greedy businesses ask for, alongside their terms and conditions of refusing to provide a concessionary discount simultaneously with their later price.
