Weekly poll: is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge the right flagship for you?

18 May 2025
The Edge tries to take things in a new direction - slimming down a flagship and making it lighter instead of packing on new features. But that comes at a cost.

If Samsung used the Galaxy S25 Edge to showcase their new battery tech similar to silicon carbide, I could still consider it. But since they didn't, it's an easy pass for me.

dbizzle, 18 May 2025Where is the "NO, this is trash" option? The only good thing about this phone for this price is that it pollutes the environment with only 163 grams. But the bad thing is that it is already a waste at the moment of production...

A good flagship usually offers flagship features, not just a flagship price, this one only offers the latter. Boring thin slab with midrange capabilities, but flagship chipset for the price of an Ultra flagship.

At that price with that tiny body slim battery and questionable specs which saying apart the CPU and GPU and maybe main camera there is anyhing else flagship grade its more a gimmick and a flop than a phone worth to buy and try.
But lets see what Jerryrigeverything bench table will say about this device.
My prediction is samsung BendGate 1.0.

I'd would try this S25 Edge, if the battery capacity got a silicon-carbon boost and the price dropped a bit more, along with better deals.

Apparently matching iPhone 16 battery life in a thinner, lighter, larger screen phone could work for some, though.
Plus, packing the full Snapdragon 8 Elite power without throttling in such a slim glass body is pretty nice for this first-gen product.

This first generation try has potential and the next versions should be even better, making large screen phones comfy and interesting again.

Preordered it, hefty $1.3k price tag but worth every cent

kdss, 18 May 2025"flagship" 😁😁😁😁😁And a mediocre one with terrible cameras and a traditional Li-Ion battery at that! It makes the Zenfone look much better in comparison.

How can we know that without review, at least? Why we coming to this site at the end?

No, I prefer to have a phone that lasts me throughout the whole day rather than one that trades that for useless thinness and decreased durability

I don't care that much about phones becoming thinner, but they should be lighter. Edge being big and light is net +ve

No I am happy using my S24 Ultra.
