BlackBerry was given deadline by this year for buyout otherwise they are history. I guess you didn't realise that they approached few large companies (including Chinese OEM) but all rejected.
Although Microsoft is desperate in acquiring Nokia, it's not end of the world for them if they fail to get Nokia. Nokia is already suffering huge losses, retrenchment of thousands of employees worldwide and slashed R&D expenditure. I'd say they need Microsoft more than Microsoft need them actually.

calling sony screen very poor is a bit of an exaggeration, I have a xperia v a non flagship phone and of course I've held an s4, the colors of s4 are punchy, but it is in no way miles ahead of xperia v, so calling it poor is just blatant nitpicking.
