Hope sony or motorola or ericsson return symbian uiq,the 1st and original symbian, which also had touchscreen use since its beginning unlike nokia's s60.
Heck 1st symbian and touchscreen phone and smart phone was ericsson R380 in 2000.
Ericsson are the ones that coined the name smartphone
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ericsson_R380
Here is small quote from link "It was a groundbreaking device since it was as small and light as a normal mobile phone.[5] It was the first device to use the new Symbian OS."

But the statistics in the list you linked show that Samsung is the only 'hugely' successful company on Android, the sum of the next THREE companies on Android don't even come to half of Samsung's volume! That is not a trivial margin by any standard. And don't forget that it is not a coincidence that most of the companies on the android list do not make their revenue principally/solely from mobile phones. Why isn't HTC on the list? Are their phones that 'bad'? As you know, there is a lot that goes into cell phone manufacturing - processors, screens, various chipsets and other logistics. These other companies can leverage their other businesses while their mobile phone division gradually grows even if it loses money for a long time (take Xbox and Microsoft as an analogy). Unfortunately, Nokia was not in that position at the time the deal was struck with MS, especially with their huge workforce and a good chunk based in the west for that matter - they needed cash injection badly. The point I'm simply making is that Android would not have guaranteed 'automatic' success or salvation for Nokia, there are several other critical variables involved. They were late to the game. Do you think they could match the pace of Samsung's hardware delivery or that of the other Asian companies at the current price point? Without the support of another company and with share prices dwindling as iOS and other Android makers ate into their marketshare?
It's really painful to hear about Symbian and Meego's demise, but the fact is that Nokia was a victim of a mobile technology inflection point. It happens to great companies all the time, and Android could not have 'saved' them, not when they were competing against iOS and other equally determined Android OEMs!

Can you password protect your sms??(even feature fones have this option)

My friend u can call, email, browse net even with an asha phone no need to spend so much on a fone like this if you cannot have basic features of a "smartphone".

I wonder when true multitasking would come to wp..

A file manager is needed...i do have rar, zip, srt and some personal pics which i would love to manage my own way not left on the mercy of os.

                        How is whatsapp service working??

Last i would say if you are satisfied with making call, sending sms and emails, taking pic and watching videos u can go for some good feature phones(atleast you have ringtone profile and you can check you phone balance via ussd properly)

AnonD-181911, 08 Oct 2013Nokia's exiting the mobile business has NOTHING to do with ... moreNo.

Android is hugely profitable for many mobile manufacturers, not just Samsung. Witness this Engadget article from July: http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/26/apple-three-year-low-smartphone-marketshare/.

Samsung is now more profitable in the mobile space than Apple. The top five phone manufacturers turning profits are: 1) Samsung (Android) 2) Apple (iOS) 3) LG (Android) 4) Lenovo (Android) 5) ZTE. Huawei (Android) is sixth on that list.

So five of the six largest smartphone manufacturers (all of which are turning profits) are making their dime off of Android. STOP SPREADING THE LIE THAT ONLY SAMSUNG MAKES A PROFIT ON ANDROID...that "statistic" is about as old as the last time Nokia was on these lists in 2011 (thanks to SYMBIAN, not Windows Phone BTW).

                                Goodbye symbian.
Love the symbian series 60,the awesome OS of all time..
The only problem it had was it was slower and hanging problem.Nokia didn't had the cool touch when they launch 5800,all OS was crappy and painful.
What are the OS requirement other than APPS..
A good MENU style,Good Contacts soft,
calender app, cool gallery design, awesome message inbox..
All were present in Nokia series 60 2nd and 3rd edition.
They denied to bring dual screen phones in developing markets, that was anyone's huge mistake.

I thought that Nokia promised us four years of Symbian support?

This Microsoft/Nokia deal (in fact all of Elop's involvement with Nokia) has turned really sour for their users... however this was foolish on Microsoft's part

I will certainly not be buying a Windows phone when my Symbian Nokia 700 comes-up for renewal and instead will get Jolla if possible, or Android if I can't

Honestly can't see Windows Mobile making the distance which means Microsoft have basically destroyed their medium-term customer base through a combination of product stupidity and alienating their customers!

no surprise, I was expecting that Nokia is lying and dumping their customers already for 3 years. First they dumped 100 million customers with Symbian with their statement, that they stop Symbian support. Developers immediately run from Symbian. Then they let go their WP 7.5 customers when declared it will not be upgraded to 8 and supported. Again no applications, no future. Users of WP 8 can just expect exactly same thing that they will be dumped one day.
I have Nokia 808 I bought last year, it is awesome phone, but forced to be not used by masses. Now I found that support for my phone ends one year after I bought it, though company promised till 2016...
I tried WP8 for few days and I will never be user of WP. It is not smartphone, it is just better dumbphone which is very fast with dumbness.
My second phone is Sony Xperia ZL and it is awesome phone for its functionality, compatibility, number of applications.
Nokia is dead, Microsoft has no future. This chapter of mobile history is closed.
