Touchscreen Nokia N97 is the next step ahead with full QWERTY

02 Dec, 2008
The Nokia N97 is most definitely one of the most loaded N-series devices out there, but that's not it's all about. The N97 is the first high-end device powered by the latest touchscreen Symbian S60 OS...

I have the iphone 3g right now. I am happy with it, but I am really excited about the N97 and looking forward to hear more about it. The reason why I find it so hard to let go of my iphone is because it really delivers a great user experience. There's a lot of touchscreen phones out there with much better specs than the iphone but fall short on performance. I hope the N97's UI works just as well as the iphone's. Even w/out the multi-touch, I can deal with that. Just a fluid UI is all I'm hoping for, then I can finally say goodbye to my iphone. I like the iphone and I could settle for it, but I don't like Apple's walled approach. It's almost as if they're still in control of your device even when it's already supposedly yours.

      I d0nt think this N97 is way better to the Xperia, it 0nly bcuz 0f 32gig mem0ry? Damn it! Xperia has a 800x480 res0luti0n, metalic case, m0nster cpu, 256 ram, w/c make it a real c0mputer!

Correct me if I am talking rubbish but I think it fits better with the specs of the Ivalo rather than the Ipo8 because of the 32gb rom? Has anyone else though about that? I know that the Ivalo is far later on but there is nothing to say on the Ipo8 that there is 32gb and there is on the n97 so do you reckon it's the Ipo8 or the Ivalo?

The N97's out and it's still 5 megapixels? What a shame! And the design is too conservative, double shame! Dear Nokia, a bit more exclusivity for future devices. ;)

Xperia wasn't innovative, there were plenty windows mobile devices with touch screens and qwerty keyboards. The one who says SE invented this kind of phone is lame and dumb, and should seriously check the evolution of all phone form factors!!!

Second of all, the 8MP of SE and Samsung, isn't better than the 5MP one of the N82, which still takes the best pics ever by any mobile phone. This test was done by the best photographers in the world.

Third, Nokia doesn't copy phones, they take ideas, but they perfect phones, giving them the best features for a cheaper price, and that's why 3 billion people have a Nokia phone, and only 1 billion is being shared between Samsung and SE.

Fourth, Iphone doesn't have a good OS, it's crappy, limited and it's full of bugs each time they send out a firmware update. Symbian is the most advanced and compatible OS out there. No wonder that all mobile apps that are created, 60% of them was designed for Symbian, which means most people feel more comfortable investing in Symbian. And that's why Nokia always will be a leader.

Fifth, Most people don't buy their phones for looks, but for features and quality, SE and Samsung, might have design (samsung doesn't, they just used the same design in about 100 slider phones???). Also a reason why nokia is better. Why invest in expensive materials and design, while it's a factor that boosts the price up to 40%.

                      ---

I don't care if you all like SE or Samsung, but those brands will never be on top of the market, cause the companies aren't smart enough to take over Nokia.

I absolutely gotta have this phone. But I can wait until the price drops. This phone has it all and it looks great.

This looks like the phone I have been waiting for. Big screen, qwerty keyboard and a a decent camera.. and no need to load iTunes on my PC.

                          Yay!
