with android you really need more cores to run it smoothly or no matter how many cores it still lags.

Well done..
However I think at most apps only use dual-core so anything above that is just showing off..Its still a good "first" and if app devs can use all 8 cores at once it will lead to good speed increase but at what cost in battery life.

I detect a lot of bitterness and butt hurt kids... Normally I would be with those saying that 8 cores are a tad too much. But there are too things going on here, it's the first (I know of) that a Chinese company is doing something relatively major first and then proceed to sell it for peas. Secondly having enough strongly multi cored/threaded devices around would make much more profitable to program for many threads and in turn it will give us better threaded apps. It's win win even for those using dual cores.
So yeah I don't see why should anyone get butthurt about this, if anything the "major" companies should take this as a hint that they'd better get their act together...

Because sam... morebut to be fair i reckon quad core is more then enough for current gen smartphones, i mean with modern phones easily approaching 2.5ghz quads with huge ram is there even anything on the phone that would need so much raw power, its like the announcement the day before yesterday about the 2k screens on the new chinese phone, its good to see it is possible, but there is no possible current use for such high displays.
