I spend $A80 a month I now get 5 times as much data as I used to get for $A30 a month.
Before I had my iPhone, I had data bundled on top of my call plan, I've done that for 7 years now, I always use it, I always have I can't see that changing in future, I used to spend $A70 a month.
btw it is very hard to find open wireless networks in Australia, because of the way Internet pricing is structured here, businesses are not as open about sharing their networks.
I've had phones that are capable of using MMS, I rarely used it, I think I've sent 3 in the last 5 years.
The same goes for video calls, it was something I tried when I first got a phone with that functionality that was 3G, the quality was awful so I never used it until my network upgraded to 3.5G (HSDPA) so I tried it again to see if it had improved, it hadn't.
Every phone I've had I installed Opera, except for the iPhone it doesn't need it, Safari is superior.
I might try Skyfire on my N82, I never liked flash enabled in phone browsers, they chew through my data with little benefit, besides Opera didn't support it.
Email is a vast improvement on the iPhone to the clients I've used in the past, now I don't even bother logging in on my PC, I use my iPhone the only time I use my PC is to email attachments.
I also use Linux, I have a partition with XP, iTunes, Outlook and various phone applications from my old phones.
I only boot into XP for syncing, the iPhone isn't much different to my old phones in this regard, they ALL used Outlook.

Skyfire is an application, it can be installed. Nokia`s default browser sucks, but you can install Opera if you want too. The same here, dumbnuts. I can get a better browser, the best browser, the fastest, for free. I don`t give a .... if it doesn`t come with the phone by default, i can download it from the official site and USE it, you can not. And if i had a symbian phone, i could do the same thing. Suck`s ahh?
I said that MMS IS NOT important for me, but i guess you cannot read or understand a text with more than 3 words. I said that videocalling is important, and i use it. And it is used in Europe, but then again, i won`t wonder why americans don`t use it, considering you are like 2 years behind in telecomunication tehnology (i should know, i work with you, Alcatel-Lucent, Lucent beeing the US telecomunication company that has a joint venture with us. When we fusioned with Lucent, they were like 2 years behind us technology wise...lol).
And if 3G is not available anywhere (true, btw), then why do you pay 30 bucks a month for a data plan?:))) You can not use is on the top of a mountain, no 3G signal, for exemple. You can only use it in the city, where WiFi is available too for most of the time. I pay 5 Euro/month for 1GB of 3G traffic, more than enough for anyone, and use it when i don`t have WiFi available. And of course, it is HSPDA 3.6 Mbps, not 1.8Mbps like on the Iphone. Faster baby.
I don`t have a flash, but i have a BIGGER camera sensor (which means better quality) and a bigger resolution (5.0 Mpx).
A lot of windows users switching to Apple? Thats why MS still have 90 percent of the OS market share, globally. And Apple struggles for 7-8 percent, even the free BSD community (Linux) rises faster than Apple :)). And i said mac users do not know how to use windows. What the $%^& has this to do with the windows users switching (using) to MACs?

If skyfire is the world to you, then why didn't you buy a phone that has it? The iphone can open multiple pages as well. A lot of smartphones are limited to only 2 or 3, but the iphone can open more. Now why would I open 10 apps at the same time? If I need to work on 10 websites alternately, I would open my laptop, not my iphone or any smartphone for that matter. That's just insane. With the iphone, I don't even need to open my browser to open YouTube. I just touch the dedicated YouTube App and I'm ready.

Yes, you can get decent quality pictures using the iphone under good lighting. If I need to get a picture of something important, I will use my digital camera, not my iphone. Your HTC HD does not have a flash, so please don't brag about its quality, lol.

You can ask ur friend to use a PC to resize Jee m 0 m pic to 480x320, print it, clip it, and then attach it to the screen of your iPhone. But you cannot zoom it with ur 2 fingers.

On BT - Yes, wireless headsets are more convenient, but wired headsets give better sound quality. Using a wired headset is not a bad thing as you insistently want to it be.
On MMS - it is not a bad feature at all, but it is one of the most overrated features that iphone antagonists use to spite the iphone. And it is rarely used due to the extra charges it incurs. MMS is not as reliable as email is. It has compatibility issues. Not all phones can accept MMS messages. If I have the iphone that can email photos, why would I pay extra to send an MMS file? Here in the US, both the sender and the receiver gets charged for MMS messaging. Personally, I'd rather have my friends email me photos rather than MMS so not to incur extra charges on us both. It's not about making excuses. It's about knowing how to use features practically.
On browsing - The iphone has one of the best, if not the best, web browser among smartphones, so how can you say that it sucks? How can you say that viewing YouTube is an inconvenience with the iphone? A YouTube application comes with the iphone when you buy it. You just touch that YouTube icon and you're ready to go. How is that inconvenient?
On Data Plan - You need to get this plan to maximize your use of the iphone. The iphone is a smartphone. It has a lot of applications that requires internet connection for it to work (GPS, weather, stocks, news, YouTube, push email, application store, application updates, etc). Wifi is not readily available anywhere. If you are not planning to get a data plan, you will not be taking full advantage of all the benefits of any smartphones.
On video calls - look around you. No one really uses this feature on their phones. Not all phones have this either =)
On SMS forwarding - this is a valid complain. I do not forward SMS everyday, but there were a couple of times that I needed to, and it would've been helpful if the iphone has this feature. Still, it is not a dealbreaker for most people if you weigh all the other good features and attributes that the iphone has. I've always considered the iphone to be not an ideal phone in countries that are heavy on SMS.
On 2mp cam - no matter how expensive a phone is. It would never render excellent photo or video quality compared to a standalone digital camera. Even when I had my N95, I never used it unless I really had to. I post lots of pictures on my social sites (my space, friendster, facebook) and videos on YouTube as well. I will not compromise picture and video quality, and a lot of people won't either. Unless of course you use your phone as your main camera, then I guess the iphone will not work for you. But a lot of the people here in the US and in Europe own digital cameras, so it is not a dealbreaker for us.
I know that your mission is to pull down the iphone. Read the article. It's too late for you =)

Why do i mention Skyfire? Because it has full internet support and it is the fastest browser ever created for a mobile device (see the test in the link from my last post).
And it is and APLICATION (a p l i c a t i o n , spelled out for apple fanboys that cannot read) for Symbian and WinMo, so YES, any Symbian or WinMo device can have it, you just need to INSTALL it. I open 10 pages in the same time that an Iphone using Safari opens 1 or 2. I don`t even need a youtube app, i can play youtube videos straight in my browser, like on a desktop/laptop. Now time for a commercial lol from our sponsors : hahaha :)))). End of commercial.
Iphone sells more? Of course. Am i happy about that? YES. Why? Because every 13 year old child has an Iphone, i have something that you do not find on every fence-post.
Can a windows user use and Mac with no problems? Yes . Can a Apple/Mac fanboy use a PC with windows? No. Why? It has something to do with the IQ of Apple fanboys.
Can a Symbian/WinMo user use a Iphone? Yes. Can a Apple/Iphone fanboy use one? No. Again, the difference in IQ, it seems.
And yes, MMS is not a very important feature, but the other thing posted by the guy before me ARE. Can i see my girlfriend when i am 500 km from her with an Iphone? NO. I need a laptop besides my Iphone to do that. Can i do it without a laptop on my HTC Touch HD via videocalls? Yes. Can i take a reasonable quality photo when i am at a restaurant or at a club with a Iphone? No. I can do that with my HTC phone. And i don`t have to carry a DSLR with me just to take an ordinary photo. I carry my DSLR and 3-4 optics when i want to take pictures of a beautiful landscape for exemple, when i NEED quality, the best quality.

why the iphone fails:
1. Useless BT/A2DP - this is a very important and useful feature. Stop making excuses that you cannot choose a song or track with a BT headset, well you can but you cannot just see the specific song. We all know BT headset are very convenient and very useful.
2. No MMS - MMS is old but still a very useful feature. For example, you've seen something you like to share with your friends. Take a photo of it then send it to your friend's mobile or email (YES MMS can be sent via email). Shoot > send > receive, logging in to your email just to check the pic is very inconvenient. 3.5g, 3g, edge, wap, phones can also browse the net and log in to their emails. Stop making excuses.
3. Sucky browser - Accept it, it just sucks. Want to watch youtube vids? You must use another application, another inconvenience.
4. The data plan - Why? Why pay more? There are a lot of shops that offer free wifi anyway, a lot of phones support wifi, you have internet at home, at the office, public library... Do you really have to be online that much when in reality you don't need a data plan anyway? If you do, you need to get a life.
5. 3g w/o video calls - You have wifi, so almost free inet most of the time. The main feature of a 3g smart/phone is to make and accept video calls. Wifi + 3g that does not have that function is another redundancy.
6. No message forwarding - Exteremely useful feature, stop making excuses again about emailing...
7. 2mp cam - for a very expensive phone, why does it have a low end camera?
Want to join the hype? Get an iPhone. Want a phone that really works? Buy a different one instead.
