for me i think not having a video recorder in a phone is gonna be a problem but i can live with it. willing to carry 2 cellphones becoz this right here is a must-have device. definitely an iphone killer and better than Nokia E71.
i wish it comes out in Europe soon.

What is the definition of the "iphonekiller"?
is it selling 1 million in 72 hours in USA .?
is it being a revolutionary all touchscreen cell that some manufacturers still can't match 2 years later,?
Is it a phone that has set the standard by which all touchphones are measured?
is it a cell that sent all major cell manufacturers into a crazy frenzy to quickly go back to drawing board n create their own iPhone clone?
Is it a phone that has created more buzz worldwide than any other cell in history,?
Ask yourself in order to earn the coveted title, will pre do all these, if so then yes it can be called that.,unfortunately we won't know the answer till 72 hours after palm launch

I really don't understand why some people just can't respect different opinions and have to start insulting... I don't like the iPhone, but I can express my opinion politely and not by calling the device junk and not bringing a single argument for that... Come on, people, grow up!

Personally, I am very excited to get the Pre, it looks really nice and its OS seems to be very powerful. From the videos I've seen, OS is very responsive and carries the best features of the old PalmOS - great usability and simplicity, yet many powerful features
Thanks for making such a wonderful device, Palm! :)
I really hope that Pre will be a huge success. :)

wireless charging?, 10 Jan 2009The best in charging a device...Agree. The charging dock looks promising. But how does it work? Integrated battery ala IPhone? Or some new microwave / heat charging tech. Or its actually just a small charging dock.

Rub yo butt raw with this soap cuz this ain't no phone. (1)New OS? (2)No memory slot? Yo kidding right? (3)3MP and ain't no video??? (4)and above all, why so fat for so less features.
Better recognize now it's 2009. For real.
Who cares how it charges. Everyone cares what phone can do, not how it charges.
Palm yo going down hill and now even deeper. It looks as though yo don't know where to go.
If this is priced like iphone, I don't know who else will buy this instead Nokia N series and/or other much more capable devices. Afterall S60 OS has much more extensive community base than whatever new OS Palm will use, unless this new OS is compatible with Garnet/Palm OS softwares. Oh and yo hear me? WinMo can go back to your PDA platform. It ain't up for phones.(Yeah yeah, I had Ipaq and HTC phone with WM5. What a pain. I was a big WM phone supporter. Now it's history. That's right yo'll. It's hopeless. Go for Symbian phones if you want smartphones.)
Personally, yo ain't no need qwerty keypads. I find onscreen finger keyboard on my N800 very good. The one on Viewty is quite interesting. Vibe feedback is definitely working there. If the virtual keyboard is well desgined, yo ain't necessarily need a physical one. If yo ain't no fool, you get used to it quick, granted, the virtual keyboard is well implanted.
Yo ain't compete with iPhone. People buy iPhone because it is an iphone. Not because what it does. Represent for real and give us something more solid.

i am so tired of all these blabbering from iPhone fanatics! come on guys, ain't it great that touchscreen technology is becoming better by every second? i mean, yep, thnx to iphone for starting all the rage, but it's time to look at others who are at least giving it a shot. blackberry for example, has their novelty with a clickable screen, nokia with it's s60 ts edition, xperia with its panels, htc's touchflo3d and now WebOs from palm. its just a matter of taste. if you wanna go for a certain device because you are attracted to it, then go!

wow this fone really rocks!! even gsmarena posted it in their news section which is a bit of a surprise as gsmarena caters to gsm phones only..

well, thanks to the iphone, the touchscreen phones are much amazing nowadays! the palm pre has a lot of potential to be a best selling device because it offers a lot of improved niceties found in other ts phones out there..

                                      pros:
                                      fast processor
                                      capacitative ts
3.5mm headphone jack (head on with the iphone!)
                                      8gb memory
slide-up qwerty thumboard (i prefer this over side-slide bec u can use it with one hand only)
kickslider form factor (like that of the z8)
                                      wifi
                                      a2dp bt
cards mode (standby for all active apps)
                                      dashboard function
                                      sensors (light, accelerometer, proximity)
                                      and hell a lot more....

                                      cons:
                                      no memory card slot
cdma version only (at least for now)
no sdk yet (hopefully it will be backwards compatible with old palm apps such as iSilo)
                                      no front camera for videocalls
                                      no autofocus and video recording

                                      what's missing:
over the video demos in the net, there is no mention of an onscreen keyboard or even handwriting recognition.. old palm users will surely miss the use of a stylus.. some consumers really prefer to have a stylus input as an option..

in a nutshell, palm resurfaced dramatically with their release of the pre.. hopefully, it will be embraced by consumers to put palm again at the throne of touchscreen kingdom.

i never expect such a miracle frm Palm , truelly a great finish , OS is really promising with well a great update from Iphone' OS ,but i got da felling that the screen should be a lit smell , could have been bit large . I wonder if Apple had some modfictions like this in their iphone 3g it would be a all time block buster ,bcoz a lot expected from apple as their 1st gen iphone bt instead they just kept all the bull shits they made in the 1st gen iphone , (such as No MMS , Video Call, crappy cam , no file sharing) and slight different in the da design . though most of them would hardly find which 1 is 3g and which 1 is not . PAlM PRO is dafinaltly the next level of Touch OS since they iphone ,

1 would also consider HTC Touch FLO which i feel is better then iphone OS bt commercially WinMobile failed to give that Mass Felling some ding thats vary unique in the iphone and it isn't attention getting like Iphone . And about the Nokia 5800 it isn't a miracle nor a revolution but 4 da price and ease of use it will dafinately sell more then any Touch OS .
