It's just a marketing strategy and it's lead to one and only one thing , that's more money for nokia

I'm so tired of tree-hugging individuals with their 'lets save the world bullsh**' complaining of world hunger and child labor while they sip on their grande latte from starbuck while trying to sport their stupid iphones. What I dislike even more though, is when huge corporations try to cloak themselves in that same cow-manure and try to convince us that they are saving the planet too. This new N79 packaging is nothing more than a way for NOkia to save money and be more efficient[ and there is nothing wrong with that]. Just don't try to feed me a line of bull. If they really wanted to save the planet maybe they should not change their charges each day day of the weak. They currently have 3 different chargers now, one for their old units and budget phones, a different one for their somewhat newer units but not all, and a new micr0-usb charger for their new phones [like n85]

So Nokia Want to help the WWF Understandable and they want to make the boxes smaller okay that is resonable.so they got the smartest people together and the best idea was to keep the phone the same price and take out the most important part to make the boxes smaller.Well i would just like to say well done nokia!!!!!! You guys are just proving how smart you are.

First they should get their batteries 'Eco', They should learn how to improve battery life! Like other brands like Sony Ericsson and Samsung - SE and Samsung Phones batteries last ages in terms of battery life! thats 'Eco'
Compared to Nokia Lol

is this a reason why they never included USB cable in lower end phones, or is it because other manufacturers have the better understanding of what customers need without the arrogance?

"Petrol black" lol, a real name for an enviromental friendly handset's color. First I thought no charger will mean suncollectors :( It's simply 'bout packaging

It's funny that Nokia choose the name "Petrol" for a phone that's meant to be "Eco" xD

sweet, this is a slick idea they should do this for most phones, make a pretty much "Phone and essentials only" Package or a "Upgrader Package" for the old fans,
cause if you follow a company you end up having a bunch of old stuff thats in great shape Like when i got my N85 i did't touch any of the accessories that came with it, i already had a Remote Wired Headset form my N95 8GB and N78 and i was using the Micro USB cable from the N78 and the only thing i took outta the box was the Micro USB changer,
Who reads the manual and uses the DVD software thats always outdated?
More companies should do this to cut down the cost of the headset for not only them but us too

That dus... moreDamn right bro! Nokia is playing mind games with us. They take the money they should be spending to make a charger and donate it to the WWF, why don't they tell us straight? And by the way I own a broken Nokia charger too, the thin one, so selling my 6234 for that "Eco" phone means me and my customer don't have chargers for our "new" phones. Eco, isn't it? We made them so damn rich and they think they're smarter than us. I'm not buying Nokia any more.
Well, l8er homies!

So Nokia makes more profit (no charger- you must buy an extra one at a higher cost) and still charges the same for the phone. "Eco"...what a gimmick. It would be excusable if the phone cost less. It's good that they're donating to the WWF though.

Why is everyone up in arms about not getting a charger in this box? It is a special box that is advertised as not having a charger and proceeds going to WWF. If you don't have a phone already and need a charger... you wouldn't buy this box! It's not like they've stopped shipping phones with chargers all toghether. It's an f'ing promotion!
